  3. Welcome to the madness! You can put pics up on photobucket. It's free.
  4. Thanks for the input guys! I'm definitely gonna disconnect the battery when I store again.
  5. Searched this topic already but still have a couple questions. Haven't drove my Comanche since October. It's an 87 2.5 4spd and it's stored in the garage. I went to start it in Dec and wouldn't start so I put it on a charger waited a few hours and fired right up. Today I went to start and same issue dead battery so it's back on the charger. Should I start up truck once a week or am I just better off disconnecting battery cables while storing? I just find it hard to believe an analog clock could sap the battery in a little over a month. Than again it could be something else all together. The battery is only 2 years old and I put maybe 500 miles on my truck last year. I had no starting issues prior to storing. Thanks!

  8. 'Bright work' .... Haven't heard that term since boot camp!!! Semper
  9. Awesome job so far!! Eagerly awaiting the rebirth of your Comanche.

  11. I have RMS leak. Haven't changed it yet. I do notice though when oil starts getting low it runs a lot rougher and wants to die out. Monitor that oil level!!
  12. $400? Post some pics of your rig. Let's check it out.
  13. Thx Jeep driver!! That sound like correct ratio 20:1?
  14. Thanks!! I've known about this problem from the get go( I know the PO). You are able to take the steering wheel while driving and turn it to the 10 and 2 position( right, left) before the vehicle reacts. I tried a slight adjustment on top of box and it didn't help. I've taken it to 2 separate shops and was told the same thing... Needs a new steering gearbox. I called local Jeep dealer and talked to parts guy... "Let me check"... Nothing. No dealer carries them. More or less obsolete.
  15. I'd really like to keep it manual though. Thx man! I just figured most of the base models with the 2.5 from that year were manual.
  16. I have a 87 2.5 RWD 4spd. My steering gearbox has long been beyond shot. I would like to replace it and keep the manual steering. My Comanche is not used to off road and can be a DD although I just don't drive it as much. Anyone know of any good gearbox replacements? Could I grab one from the JY? If so what vehicles should I be looking for that would have used this type of box? XJ,YJ,CJ? What years? At JY If it was a 5spd with manual steering would it make a difference? Thanks!
  17. 90 Comanche. Located in Summit, IL. PNP.
  18. You can find those at nearby JY! Just paint them!
  19. Only Quebec(Colorado) and Winnipeg(Arizona) have relocated recently from Canada. Now Winnipeg has another team(Atlanta Thrashers). It's a money game...just like all sports. You must be able to support a team in your respective area. I agree though about fan expense for games. If your lucky enough to have an AHL team in your area you can see a lot of talented players for a fraction of the costs of an NHL game.
  20. Yes they were in good shape with no cracks. Well I may have to road trip back there now! Was expecting them to be maybe half that price in a pick n pull yard.
  21. Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottowa, Edmonton and Montreal... That's it. The rest of the NHL is in the states. I think it's just the law of averages. More teams here equal more chances of a U.S. Team winning the Cup. 4 of those teams mentioned though made the play offs. You write your own destiny.
  22. Stopped by the JY today and they had a 90 Pioneer there. It's rare around my part of the country to find a Comanche there! The truck was beat up but still had a decent set of tail lights on it. They wanted 65 for the set. I didn't need them but was tempted to buy. Was it worth the price? I left them...

  24. Hey everyone. I have an 87 2.5 4speed RWD with manual steering. Steering gearbox is long gone. Still functions but it needs replacement. Was going to go the JY route but am thinking about getting a new/reconditioned one. Could someone point me in the right direction or have any input as far as what type/name brand to look for. I plan on keeping the manual steering. My Jeep could be a DD but it's not, and I only drive around 5k a year.
