Another Street Comanche for sale... CA
13 Legion replied to Gjeep's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Not to rain on any parade here. I can understand the ‘cool factor’ of these 100 trucks, but..... I mean for all intent and purpose it’s a base model with ground effects. It was a dealer promo. I could see if it was all tricked out, a 4x4, or some crazy special options but it’s not. It’s still a good looking truck for 800. -
I think if people maybe utilized the wanted section more that wouldn’t happen. I guess it’s a risk you take grabbing parts, but at some point someone will need them. Thanks though to all of you that do grab those ‘extra’ goodies! I saw it wasn’t for people on CC, because I think the majority of us are decent people when it comes to purchasing parts from one another.

I can’t believe that starter lasted that long. Excellent diagnoses and straight forward fix. Learned something new about a submersible fuel line! Thanks for the share

Agreed bro. You have to take in to account though..... His net worth is over 18 million. You stated earlier in another post you were looking at lights that were what 1,000 dollars? We have guys that are just trying to keep their rigs running with JY parts( like me!) that paid less for their Comanche. Creative or not, capital helps!

I agree with everything that’s been stated. It’s just the basis of economics... supply and demand. There is close to zero supply left, and unfortunately about the same amount of demand. I can’t fault a person for trying to be creative and actually produce this. I read earlier in this post where these air dams were made for a one time use( wear and tear). Which then would lead to having to make at least a few of them. Even if it seems at least they are strictly for aesthetics. The air dam will undoubtedly get scratched, chipped, and/or cracked at some point. Good luck though Dzimm. I’m wishing you the best in your endeavors to actually make something work. Money obviously is the issue, but you can’t kill creativity. Don’t give up.

Dennis Collins... when you’re a millionaire and your funds are unlimited. Nice build though.

Go to DIY write ups and master search list... search under brakes. https://comancheclub.com/forum/10-mj-tech-diy-projects-and-write-ups/

Pretty neat undertaking, none the less. Who originally produced these air dams? How many were actually made?

Ordered this cable. Swapped in yesterday. Perfect fit. I did zip tie in two places along the route for added stability and to make sure it stayed away from exhaust. Working speedo again.

Ya Pete that’s why I posted about the rear window. That was one of the things I was gonna grab if it was in good shape! -
My noise starts when it’s warmed up.
-
So what would be the best way for diagnoses with this.. in other words what/ how should I go about checking first? I would have thought( from previous vehicles) a lifter tick is a more constant sound. This sound starts after 5-10 minutes when vehicle is warm. So how do I narrow these possibilities down. Where do I start? Thanks again fellow Jeepers.
-
I took another video from underneath. Sound starts rattling in exhaust when the engine is warm. I seem to hear the sound from the point where exhaust bolts to collector tube at the flange. The exhaust isn’t making contact with any other surface to cause the noise. I was thinking manifold itself possibly cracked but now unsure. The noise is definitely louder from underneath. Pardon my filming skills.
-
Exactly, that was the issue. Didn’t sound like a rod or lifter tick. Leaning toward exhaust leak. Thanks for your insight. No longer worried about emissions. Just want to find a recommended header/ manifold for a 2.5 that is a DIRECT bolt up.
-
Piggybacking off my earlier question. What replacement manifold did others purchase? Are they a direct bolt up with no mods? 2.5 manifold. Thanks for any and all input. I know the gasket and manifold are original.
-
Ok. I will investigate further. That sound is continual that’s why it was throwing me off. Thanks YXMJ.

Short vid from underneath.

Won’t let me post video. Engine makes a ticking sound but not continual. Almost like a rattling sound
-
Had this noise for a bit. Mostly when it warms up. At first I was thinking it was an exhaust hanger rattling. Now I’m thinking not. Posting a video. Just did plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I was thinking a lifter at first. Now not so much. The idle was fluctuating because my helper was reving it intermittently.
