  1. I would go with Monroe gas matic shocks, advance auto sell them, here is a place online for reference. http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1988/j ... orber.html Under $18 a piece, a no brainer.
  2. So, how about giving me a shipping quote for the seats to Michigan? 48640, Price total? I want those type of seats but I will have them recovered in black. Thanks!! I am in central NC, and make semi regular trips to Battle Creek, Mich. It might be possible for me to bring the seats up next trip if you wanted to work something out with ncm1. I'm not sure how badly you want them or how soon youll need them, but if all parties are flexable, it could be done. PM me if interested. PM sent, ncm1, would you be ok with this scenario?
  3. If they are just door dings and not a cave in don't waste your time and the paint on those fixes. My friend worked for a company paintless dent removal. He works on his own with his soon to be wife driving to all those hail damaged areas. He took 7 dents out of my Baby, '00 Grand Prix GTP and I can't tell they were even there. It is a miracle in my book because I thought I'd have to pay to get them fixed. If you need more info on this let me know. He uses stainless steel tools only from the inside so the paint won't be harmed. I couldn't imagine using dry ice.
  4. Ok, back on topic. I have lost power about 6-10 times this spring. It started when I saw the lights dim and looked outside and saw the neighbors trees arcing against the wires. Then sure enough I saw a Consumers Energy truck roll by and then a Davey tree service cut the tree and left a pile of branches on the ground. Since the house was vacant it was up to me to clean up the mess. :fs1: So after that I noticed the insulation on the wiring was almost gone everywhere because of the age of the wire. I lost power the other night and heard a loud buzzing three times near the house as the air conditioner flickered everytime the lightning striked 3 times total. Then I was in the dark for I don't know how long since I fell asleep. About a week before the wind was blowing with no rain even and the power went out. This is about the last straw, without a generator and a sump pump backup and working 12 hour days I can't afford to let this go much longer. Should I call the power company and prod them to replace the power wires and the transformer?
  5. Bummer, I just wish you were closer and I would grab them from you. If the shipping were less I would jump on it, I guess it's just not the right time. Thanks!!!
  6. It sounds to me like youhave a leaky clutch master cylinder. Check to see if there is any fluid running down inside your firewall above or near the fusebox. If this is occuring you WILL have all sorts of electrical problems in the future because the fluid eats plastic and corrodes all the fuses. I hope it isn't that, but if it is good luck!

  8. I think this is exactly what's going on here. With one exception, if you actually spend some time using the search feature it does work. I know how it feels to be newer but I always read every one's reply and make an educated decision based on common sense. Not everyone is going to reply to your post just because they have an opinion or would like to offer assistance. I don't have any personal friends on this board but it has treated me very well. So don't get frustrated if someone rains on your parade just because you want to save a buck because we aren't buying in! Everyone has a different budget and a varying set of mechanical skills, not to mention the time to actually work on the project. So just relax and take the replies as you will, if not there's plenty of other sites answering questions such as ask.com or answers.com. Your choice and just to be clear I'll be here to listen, answer questions, give support, and/or help when I feel I have something intelligent to add.
  9. Ok call me crazy but the Comanche is awesome but that avatar is the best!! Nice MJ and yes Jeeps do have a voodo affect for some reason.
  10. It looks to me like a clutch drop was performed. Not trying to blame anything but with that kind of damage if it was not deliberetly done have you checked the pressure plate? Maybe you have a mis-match setup? That is a wasted clutch friction disk for sure but with that kind of carnage something's wrong. The flywheel should be pretty tore up too. Pics?
  11. Isn't this for the pre '96 cherokee? I can't see how a wiper would or could work on such a elongated rear window such as a Comanche's. And I know it wouldn't work that well for a slider!
  12. I ordered a set of front progressive rate springs and I called them before ordering, they were helpful and they shipped my order fast. They arrived with fragile and glass stickers plastered all over them. So the UPS man chucked them onto my cement stairs as I was watching him from my couch. :fs1: Luckily they weren't breakable as the box insisted. They shipped a motion offroad sticker that I plan on plastering on my tool box, very classy indeed.
  13. Are we talkin about a motor home here??
  14. Yeah I agree the wheels are a little much. I am NO fan of black wheels on a dark truck or car. You must have something shiny and the wheels are it. Keep 'em as is in my humble opinion.

    Gas prices

$4.29 for regular, $4.49 for premium for my Grand Prix. Midland, MI Or if you go to the corner "Convience" store usually 10 cents higher. It's nice to get convient watered down varnish gas. I bet they sell injector cleaner at a convient price too!! :rotf:
  16. http://nmi.craigslist.org/cto/2296652100.html I think you'll appreciate this one, this is the second I'd like to add to the stable.
  17. http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/2351039420.html I would like to post the actual pictures but its so much work just click on the link, you won't be dissapointed.
  18. Maybe you have dirty injectors or a clogged EGR valve. Does it spark knock when loaded? Either pulling something or power braking it at low rpms? If an injector cannot get the fuel out it will miss.
  19. You may have just burst my bubble, I bought what looks like the same headliner. The one from that e-bay seller, same color and everything. If mine does't fit or gets kinked I will be greatly dissapointed. We'll see, it has been taking up space on my dining room table for months, same as the Black leather steering wheel!!
  20. Correct me if I am wrong, but when wiring lights in series they only get half the voltage since they share the load? Series and Parallel Connections Connecting Components There are two ways of connecting components: In series so that each component has the same current. The battery voltage is divided between the two lamps Each lamp will have half the battery voltage if the lamps are identical. In parallel so that each component has the same voltage. Both lamps have the full battery voltage across them. The battery current is divided between the two lamps.
  21. I love that someone finally got a seller to commit to what he's selling. I had my Cherokee wheels redone by JR wheel company in Michigan somewhere because I used to work at Belle Tire. It cost me just over $300 for all 4. The main reason is because of the peeling and corrosion around the machined edge where the wheel weights go. So when they came back they looked great. 1 year later they looked the same so I sent them back again. They replaced them but 1 year later same thing. This time they wouldn't warraty them because they said they aren't refinishing wheels anymore, I wonder why?  The best part is I traded in my '01 XJ with them on it and kept the silverstars!! HaHA!!!
  22. I would love to attend except as usual every event happens on my weekend on. I work midnights that weekend, Sat, Sun, and Monday. Go figure, have fun for me!! Friday I could do, if only.
  23. Looks great so far!
  24. Pictures of the front bumper with the guards would be great and for an old style too. They look pretty nice but I would like more pictures too. It may look nice on the '97 and newer but it may not with the older trucks.
