  1. The Hella headlights and harness was one of the best upgrades I have ever done, well worth the money spent!!! Love it!! Just an FYI though, don't look into the lens when adjusting said headlights.
  2. Thanks for the pics of your place, looks great! As for the Comanche you could source another wire harness for the engine bay if it's too far gone.
  3. HERE!!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-EDELBROCK-6 ... 4cffe3fb5d
  4. Yes I have the brake switch hooked up along with the vacuum lines. I haven't read the scematic and tested each wire yet though. Thanks!
  5. It's all what you make of it, a 2JZ engine is an awesome car engine setup for an aerodynamic car body. It would work for our trucks but have fun with the electronics and dash instrumentation. Any modern engine would be cumbersome and costly. My bet is the new 3.5L Ford Ecoboost, all alluminum 350hp and 420lb/ft of torque, like the Geico lizzard says: Forgetaboutit!!!
  6. "87 Jeep Comanche 4x4 auto 4.0L, cruise from a '90xj swapped in along with the computer and harness complete with fuse box etc. My cruise control isn't working. I replaced the stalk on the column and checked the wiring and can't figure it out. The white wire is plugged into the fuse box for power, the box is connected under the dash, all the connectors are plugged in and the linkage is hooked up. So where do I go from here? I noticed there is a 4 amp fuse inline under the dash and when I turn the ignition on it doesn't have power. I don't know what this fuse if for if it doesn't work with the ignition on? Thoughts?
  7. One word after an accident that I know. Chiropractor!!! I have a chiropractor and I called him at home on Saturday, the day after my accident. He met me at the office and got me back into place. The best phone call I have ever made!! I wasn't sore the day of but the next day I could barely function. Sorry about the car, your dad probably wasn't pleased either. OH, one question. Why were you on the way to meet some Jeep guys to go wheelin' in your dads CAR???
  8. Great to see it's coming along. Nice bed liner job over the rails. I have a Line-x bed liner and I still put something down for heavy objects to protect it. I don't like seeing scratches from a trans or axle.
  9. I like it!! Bumper looks good.
  10. Sweet work!!
  11. I like the switches for the winch, usually I would be a little scared to use those but with your synthetic rope I would be ok with it.
  12. Another project I was behind on was installing my new steering wheel. I changed out the turn signal stalk, the ignition switch and the steering wheel. Before After After that was done I decided to get some top soil to fill in some low areas of the yard, 1000lbs doesn't go as far as you would think.
  13. A few updates, as promised I took pictures of installing the Hella e-code headlight H4 conversion with the Putco relay harness. I took measurements of the voltage before I removed the old Silverstars with and without the truck running to show the voltage drop. Old Silverstars: I found out that one was broken so an even better upgrade then I thought!! What I ordered. Before During, voltage with truck key on, brights on. After Putco harness upgrade only, truck off. The battery voltage was 10V before, now 11.5V after!! Voltage when truck was running at lights. Voltage at battery with truck running. New Hella's
  14. Awesome, truely great so funny thanks!!
  15. I got a visit from the Brown truck and FedEx the last few days. I got a 63mm aluminum throttle body for my stroker motor and I ordered some Hella e-code lamp assemblies with Hella H4 bulbs. I also ordered the Putco harness, I will measure voltage to the lights before and after the upgrade and include pictures for all who are interested. I am still waiting for my '99 intake to come, hopefully the next couple days it should show up. So here are the pics.
  16. Well my take... My comanche has years on it and thus way tired. I feel it doesn't have enough HP and it probably has 115 if I would venture a guess. If you are thinking of a 25hp diesel you won't have enough power and you have no way of cooling it at idle or in traffic compared to a liquid cooled. Also it was probably meant for one RPM say if it were to run a generator. I would be concerned with the crank if you were to use a clutch because it's a lot of strain on a crank if a clutch gets dropped. 25hp for a tractor good, on the road with other cars not my cup of tea.
  17. So if I understand you have a 21 spline and you want to go to a 23 spline? The '88 should have a 21 spline tcase. For $150 you should be able to find a 231 23 spline and just swap whole cases and keep the 21 for spare parts. The 23 spline cases are EVERYWHERE compared to the 21. I wouldn't buy a new shaft myself, too expensive for a part that rarely wears out in my humble opinion. CL is the way I'd go.
  18. Great job thanks for all the pics

    Awesome LOL!!!
  20. I bought the silverstars for my Comanche, now that I have a '06 GC Hemi the silverstars are terrible comparitivly. It looks like I will be going with the Hella lights afterall.
  21. Awesome, what was the box you mounted in the console?
  22. Well... It seems tired compared to my '98 XJ. The Cherokee was so much faster and I would like to have a LSD rear end someday too because getting stuck in my driveway on the way to work on one patch of ice isn't fun. I'm sure the cross hatch pattern is still in the bores but maybe I'll build that one for the '90 XJ project. Interior I'm using from a donor.
