I went to look at a used truck for my neice today but I don't know the history of the vehicle because they buy cars from auctions. Can someone run a carfax for me or whatever else to see if it has a had any accidents and such? The vin is: 4F4YR16V81TM30433 2001 Mazda extended cab pickup Thanks in advance!!

I used to have my desktop picture of this one, but the snow is depressing in the summer months.

1990 Comanche: Daily-Driven Autocross Build

My '98 XJ radiator did the exact same thing, authough it was 85 degrees and 100% humidity with the A/C on running idle for 20 minutes. Stupid plastic tanks.- 41 replies

Hayduke's Operation Comanche Repower - 88 To 98 Swap

Wow! Great work but the PAC-MAN yellow is truely your preference. :rotf: -
I know it's not a less costly way of centering your front axle but after I put my 3" lift on I ran the stock control arms for a while. I bought some cheap stock replacements and then finally bought some adjustable upper and lower control arms from JKS with the rubber bushings. Let me tell you a night and day difference!! The truck has a better steering feel nice and solid and when you go over bumps on the road it's rock solid. There used to be a clunk when I went over some big bumps like a driveway enterence. Not cheap but WAY worth the cost if you are going to drive it. I also grabbed a front sway bar from a Cherokee Country that was 1-1/16" thick for nearly free. I got lucky when I put mine in, measured a few times installed them and took it to get alligned, PERFECT caster and camber. TOE was off just a touch. Great looking truck!

My concern is if it were meant to drive a hydro the crank may not be strong enough to manage being clutch dropped onto a static load. A broken crank is a deal breaker.

I don't think ANY jeep was meant to be a DD. Sales of larger more comfortable and practical transportation has killed the quirky fun easy to love impractical vehicles. Who DD's their '67 Camaro? I don't think they are complaining. I too believe you are up to your eyeballs in work with little return appriciation. I get that. Maybe you need to take out a huge loan, take a year off and build the ultimate Comanche. Now if you want a DD this is the parts list: Tons of sound deadening and LineX. NO rust Power everything, heated cooled and power seats, power heated and auto dimming mirrors, Rear defrost with power slider, 10 speaker 1000W Bang&Olusfen stereo with ipod control, bluetooth, 80gig HD, power locks, power windows, A/C full gauge cluster, etc. 4 wheel independent suspension with front and rear anti-rollbars Magnetorheological shocks computer tuned for the best ride quality Brand new LT1 (6.2L direct injection, Displacement on Demand) with 8 speed auto trans Stiffened unitbody and hardpoints for upgraded suspension Maybe this will inspire you. :P If this seems like too much work for the payoff I will be happy to build it for you. It's the lest I could do for a fellow member.

88 Comanche Project C88Mj

Love it! -
I don't think anyone will be complaining when they have 420 lb/ft of torque getting 30mpg highway with one in absolute luxury with a selectable ride height for off road use... Me I can't wait to buy one, but the price is the only thing stopping us from pulling the trigger.

It will drop a lot lower once you put some low profile tires on there. Those 75 series are TALL!! Ya know you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble with all the front axle modification if you would have dropped in a LS7 dry sump oil V8 from a Z06 vette!! They have a 1" flat oil pan! Good work, glad you are getting some help. Interesting build.

Cool thanks for the info! It doesn't sound like my parents would need the extra Cloud storage for their needs.
