Dana 30 axle gear swap
Automan2164 replied to jcComanche86lb's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What rear axle was in it, and what rear axle is in it now? If the gears are different than stock now, how do you plan on changing the front and not the rear? What gears are in it now? Rob L. -
Mrsimon's First Mj Project (Tube Bed Page 7)

Any more pictures besides this one? I was contemplating cutting mine off even with the lower body line like the SWB guys, but I have a cali truck in the midwest, and that rust free sheetmetal is going to take some balls to cut into. I like the cut you did because it still looks like its there, but is up out of the way. Rob -

Sweet! Really wished we could have worked something out, but I understand. Did you cut the rear quarters? Or were those rock customized? Rob L. -
Why is that they only rub on one side? Always wondered... Never put much thought into it though. Rob L.

Just getting things out there for a Comanche Club trip to the swap meet. We all usually have a good time, and there's always cool stuff to look at. We have just shy of 2 months to plan for it, so hopefully we can have a good turn out. Maybe we can all do the meet, then all head out to grab lunch and some frosty beverages. http://www.madisonclassics.com/car-show ... ferson.php Rob

Any updates? I was admiring the LWB on your JCR thread, then searched for your build... Here I am, and I like it! As someone who also plans on wheeling a LWB, did you cut the rear quarters behind the wheel? Rob L. -

I did try to contact JCR... And their response: Looks like we are on our own. Rob L. :( -
Good luck with a couple. I only got one... Not many MJ's with the Metric Ton package got the badges. Its a crap shoot. The same with the window stickers. Now that, I would like to duplicate. Rob L.

I like this guy. ^ Rob L.

ouch. and then paying for tech support on top of that? Let's start a donation fund... But on a serious note, I don't know if this is a large enough community to warrant the purchase. However, is the newer version of phpBB any better than the one your running? I just get a bad feeling about running fusion, mainly because I'd never even heard of it until now. Is it stable? It didn't seem like there were a ton of sites running it. Pete has a test section put up if you would like to check it out. www.comancheclub.com/fusionbb Rob L.

Got them this morning, finally got a chance to sit down here... Enjoy. Air dam really isn't my bag, but that roll pan is pretty sharp. I would want the plate centered though... Rob L. :dunno:

Rustoleum paint job
Automan2164 replied to jcComanche86lb's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My boss is an old self taught body man, and he always says not to paint outside. His trick of the trade was that he made a paint booth out of his garage on the cheap. He took some lumber, squared out the bottom couple feet of the garage door, then put in furnace filters. He had a window, so when he was getting ready to paint, he closed the door down on to the filter frame, put a box fan in the window to pull out the fumes and take the dust out, and the filters kept any dust coming in from the outside. I planned on doing the same, except put the fan in the end of filter frame as I don't have a window. Rob L. -
Friend of mine in tech school came up with what I thought was an ingenious idea... He put in a really fancy stereo. Then he took the stock AM/FM radio, took it apart to free up the faceplate, and glued all the buttons back in the right spots. Whenever he got out, or parked it in public, he would hang the factory shell over it, and no one was the wiser. Rob L.

4K Seems like a very generous offer considering it has the D35 still, most likely that 5 speed is a peugot, and that lifts sounds like one of the cheaper ones. Looks like it could just hit the 3K range in my book. The bumper, winch, headache rack, and some other doodads I see are cool, but not 4K cool. I'd double check those gears too. I'd ask for paperwork. Rob L.

Nice! A man who knows how to install a stereo. I can't tell you how many dashboards I have opened up to find the previous owner hack jobbed an aftermarket stereo. Usually just twisted wires and electrical tape, but I have found wire nuts and scotch locks too (VERY VERY evil invention). Coming along nicely. Good to see another MJ in good hands. Rob L.

Just had me a good cold weather recipe last weekend, been eating it all week. Frying up 1 Lb of bacon: Adding the 2 Lbs of Smoked sausage: After the rest of the goodies, including a TON of garlic, onions, Kale, heavy whipping cream, stock, and of course, tates: One of those soups that's pretty thick, and VERY meaty... Rob L.

Who are all those guys? Going to have to wonder what happened to half the members in that thread. Rob L. :D

As a rule, I think most Americans are pretty dumb. That said, even though it gets 40 miles to the gallon, its still $0.50 more at the pump per gallon. I don't think too many lazy Americans can get over that hump. Rob L.

1992 VIN number lookup ?
Automan2164 replied to Dougster123's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Must be using my site huh? I never did get around to adding the later years. Another thing you can do is call up the dealer with the VIN and ask for info. The parts dept is usually pretty cool, and they can still look most of those later MJ's. Rob L. -
Project AMC-V8 / 5spd / AMC-20 MJ . . .
Automan2164 replied to AMC-MJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Where the hell are you getting these prices for AX15 2WD's? I bought one for $50, and sold it for $75! No one wants them! Everyone is converting to 4wd! Rob L.
