  1. Crap. Forgot about it. :wall: Rob L.
  2. That gold stripe down the bedsides. It was part of the 1988 Olympic games promotional package. Usually, there is also a set of rings under each front emblem, and one in the back window behind the drivers head. I have an old site that I made and I put together a package spotter. Check it out: http://comanchemj.1hwy.com/photo5.html You can also take the VIN, and call your local Jeep dealer. Tell them you are interested in buying it, and you were wondering what rear axle it might have. '88 Is on the cusp of them still having info, so its a shot in the dark, but worth it none the less. I assume you know a D44 when you spot it? Oh, and: Rob L.
  3. Olympic edition. Very nice. Good luck getting it. More than less those are pretty optioned. Check for a D44. Rob L.
  4. I was eyeballing this one, but it seems a bit pricey. I was waiting for it to end, then I was going to shoot the seller an offer. I have it's '92 Comanche counterpart at home. Rob L.
  5. Isn't that your $100 '86? Rob L.
  6. Hornbrod got his perches from Mopar, and they ended up being long. IIRC, he said they worked great, and weren't that expensive. Rob L.
  7. Some info here: http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7261 Rob L.
  8. I would call the local FD, and try them. Look up the non-emergency number, and give that a ring. Explain the small size of the tree, and tell them the situation. If they are any kind of agency, they will have no problem sending a couple guys out with some ladders. Gives them a good opportunity to break in any new guys on the equipment. Rob L.
  9. You sir, are a metal master. For a dump humper, this thing is going to be cherry. Keep it up, maybe some of your motivation will rub off on me. And I have my hands on a Cali truck. Rob L.
  10. Was the ZJ that big of a deal? Here I was sitting here on CL, I always thought people sold them because they are a bit troublesome. So its really because there is a truckload of them out there? We talking XJ numbers? Rob L. :dunno:
  11. Well, looks like Allpar.com will run the letter you guys helped me with in its entirety or in parts. My "guy on the inside" is really pulling for us. I moved the thread with the rough draft and stuff to the shadows for now. Here's what we ended with: Hopefully, with the attention from allpar.com, we will not only reach Chrysler Execs, but anyone who might have worked for Chrysler/Jeep and could have info to help us. I'll post the link up in here as soon as it hits. Rob L.
  12. Well it had just occurred to me that I should probably update this sucker. :D Thanks to Ben (Neohic) in October, I got a COMPLETE black interior out of a 2 door XJ, and the b-pillars and such for an MJ. He found the XJ, pulled out everything for me on his own time, paid for it, and held onto it for me. Then, like some sort of rain man, runs into an old guy at a gas station who has an MJ, and hates his black interior, so he got the B-pillars, seatbelts, a-pillars, kickers, mini-console, and a vinyl bench. So, this is what I have: How bout a black vinyl bench and door panels to match? Sorry, the Black vinyl bench is no good to me. I really didn't want the one I got, but it was free, so like a sore johnson, you can't beat it. But thanks for the offer. Have at it Bo. Thanks, I saw they were both '92's unfortunately, with no black. And Thank you a TON for registering them. Helps me out a ton. I do still need the under window piece you speak of. I could use the carpeted panel if anyone finds one too, but I am less worried as I can just re-cover one of my gray ones with some black carpet. Rob I sent you a PM Fran Awesome! PM REPLIED! Rob L.
  13. Yep. Even already messaged them about the seat, and they would be down for a trade and cash, but I don't want to do that while it's being sold. I'll contact the new owner when it ends. Rob L.
  14. 8953004517 '86 Comanche 35 3.54 NL Rob L.
  15. Catch my Jeep Letter update? Rob L. ;)
  16. The last known, (to the club anyway) is 5.3.92. I have seen those numbers before, because I remember the 4x4 percentage breakdown referenced. But, as you've pointed out, those should be taken with a grain of salt, as they didn't even get the options packages correct. Rob L. :(
  17. Does not matter where you jack it up by, as long as its a solid point with safety stands. Shocks can be changed with the axle under full droop, or fully compressed. If you can get under there, you can change them with it on the ground too, and save some hassle. Rob L.
  18. End year for this is '92. My '91 Eliminator had it, my '92 Eliminator does not. The story that I have gotten from old Jeep Techs and tinkerers is that the "Comfort" setting allowed for softer shift points, which make the clutch packs slip a bit more, which made the friction discs not last as long. As well as bad fuel mileage since the clutch packs were slipping more than usual... So in '92 they decided to stick to the firm shifted, better mileage Power option, and hard wired it in. Rob L.
  19. Front. Let the steering axle pull you where you want to go. Rob L.
  20. A 20 will fit the bill nicely, as well as boost the cool factor. Rob L.
  21. Just trying to convince myself that it wasn't a good one because your so far away. But its not looking like it. Rob L. :D
  22. But it was in horrible shape, right? Rob L.
  23. http://orlando.craigslist.org/ctd/2211034259.html http://orlando.craigslist.org/ctd/2211856165.html http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/2211278014.html http://orlando.craigslist.org/ctd/2210835323.html Just did some quick searches on donors for an 86 MJ. I really like the 2 door. The waggy would be an awesome donor too, as the tails are already solid red, and will use the same layout as MJ tails. Food for thought. Rob L.
  24. Ok. That makes more sense, but I would, personally, use a donor that hasn't been touched by idiots. That one already has a lift, and what is described as issues running. Not a good idea to start with a basket case. I don't know about you, but I could find a mint XJ country with all the nice interior options and good runner for $2500 all day. As for just a sport with a solid drivetrain? That would be a $1500 jeep. Rob L.
  25. Tell me the bench was vinyl and not the black and white checkered one. Rob L.
