Its been done... I found this: Got it running, and turned it into this(and drove it for awhile): But, its amazing what paint, some Canyons, and a little work will do to the same truck: And after a 3" lift and some bars? Forget about it: And the bumper sticker it wore the whole time: I passed up a rusty '91 Eliminator that I wanted to rat-rod. It would be nice just to have a down and dirty MJ that I didn't care about the paint, or what it looked like. I would have liked to paint it flat black, stenciled on the old Elim letters on the bed, dropped it with some XJ shackles and 2.5L springs, and drove the wheels off of it. Rob L.

Always wondered what might have happened to my first vehicle and MJ... I sold it about 5-6 years ago now on eBay to a guy in WI who wanted to fix it up and turn it into a driver. It was an '86 2.5L AX4 D35. Red with a black vinyl bench interior. Its always bothered me that I sold it. Tonight I stopped back by ma's house for her B-day, and found the old owners manual from it, along with the VIN and P.O.'s info... So, just looking to see if its still around, or confirmed junked. 1JTHS661XGT205378 So if any of you have any ties with the WI DMV, or a Carfax kinda deal, I'd like to see if it was even registered, or still is. Or, if it was scrapped. :( If somehow it is still out there, I'd like to have it back in the stables, as this was the one that started it all. 8) Rob L.

Looks like the trans lever sensor was in the dipstick... Is that one of the ones you grabbed? Rob L.

Any body use these Bumpers?
Automan2164 replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
After complaints from the only people they were making the rear bumper for, they discontinued it. And magically, for some reason, the sliders disappeared at the same time... Hmm. :hmm: Personally, I would have just left well enough alone, and been happy that someone was making stuff for us. But now... We are on our own again. Rob L. :( -
'85. But none of the free available FSM's go that old. I bet that it could be found in an '84-'86 FSM. Rob L.

RC is assuming that you have stock locations on your axle for shock length though... So having an 8.8 tosses a wrench in anything they have for a reference. You will most likely have to measure yourself, and tell them what you need. Rob L.

Anyone have a FSM with a wiring diagram that plots this sucker out? I wanted to put it together to bench test it. Rob L.

eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/KEYCHAIN-2000S-JEEP ... 483ee2b960 Definitely not a Comanche, but did anyone else catch the last part of his listing? Think someone should contact him about an actual MJ keychain? Rob L. :dunno:

What exactly is it that you do? Rob L. :dunno:

Think ARB would be in the market to buy a lift company? Maybe Jeep is buying them to have them the the Mopar lift co. I can dream can't I? Rob L.

XJ, ZJ, KJ, MJ. Rob L. -
I usually just call the dealer. Call up the Jeep dealer, ask for the parts department, and give them the last eight of the VIN. They *should* still be able to tell you the build date, original dealer destination, and some limited parts info. I keep numbers of Jeep dealers in every time zone. That way, if its too early by me, I call on the East coast, too late, time to hit up a dealer in Cali. Rob L.

Replacing Lock Cylinders
Automan2164 replied to FireFighter32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is just a locking tab that slides in behind them and holds them tight to the door. Look in there with a flashlight, and you can see it. Slide out the rod just like you would the door handle, and then tap the tab out, they come out from the outside. You can pull that little plastic plug on the door to see in there better. Rob L. -

Whats a new shaft run? Rob L. :dunno: -
Of course they are closing the doors for a bit... Just after they released that Comanche that might have shined some light on our little corner of the world. Rob L. :dunno:

Got it today! AWESOME!!! Even a registration paper with the VIN, and the owners manual! Awesome! You cut off all the connectors attached, got as many sensors as you could, and they all look great! You gave me one hell of a run at getting this thing to work, much appreciated. Thank you sir. Rob L.

They are supposed to come on in center position when you open either door. The replacements work exactly the same as OE. :dunno: thats not how mine work? up is on, down is on with doors/switch, center is off. :dunno: Same here. Rob L.

This is why I have been asking for your VIN this whole thread. I can run it, and find out all the info. Other members can also do so, from the comfort of their computer at home. Rob L. :fool:

Ah. Must have missed that somewheres. Carry on. Rob L.
