sounds like a good find..... i don't drive mine in the snow (trying to keep my rust free status, so it stays indoors all winter) but i have started it at temps around 2 degrees, and it didnt want to start either, so i had to hold the gas pedal down a little bit while i cranked it, and after it fired up until it warmed up a little bit and would run on it's own....

are you referring to the number of teeth on the gear? i'm not sure, i'm swapping from a 2.5/ax-4 w/225/75/15 tires to a 4.0/aw-4/np231 and 235/75/15 tires, so i need whatever gear will work with that combo....

GM FWD wheels off the bigger bodied cars (lesabre, park ave, bonneville, etc.....) will work as well... i had 99 lesabre wheels lying around my garage and i slapped em on my parts pig cause i wanted the wheels from it... had to file the inside of the hub down a little bit on 2 of em so they would clear the rear hub, but they slipped on the front just fine...

spring over axle will give you roughly 5in. of lift in the rear. i like the toyo open country a/t's, theyre a little pricey but well worth it.. mine currently has dunlops on it cause thats what came with the wheels i bought, but when they wear out i'll be replacing them with the toyo's ran your VIN thru a decoder.. this is what it comes up with..... Clutch, best bang for my buck
WBKrazy replied to Wakerider933's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i've always had good luck with LUK clutch sets... i think centerforce makes a dual friction clutch for the ax-5 as well.. -

Transmission Question, NP205
WBKrazy replied to case5412's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
a 205 is a very stout t-case, but i don't think it will work in an mj without some kind of adapter to mate it to the jeep transmission.... -
you don't have a ba10/5 in your truck, you've got a 2wd ax-5... pukegoats go behind the 4.0.. and yes the xmember should be the same

..if you were going to buy a Cherokee as a donor...
WBKrazy replied to azscott's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
depends on what you want to do.... if you want to swap out to an HO motor, you'll need a 91 or newer... i think 89 was the last year for the pukegoat, they switched midyear, so if you want to stay renix w/an ax-15 you'll need an 89-90.. i'm staying renix with mine cause i don't want to rebuild the entire truck, so i scored an 87 xj for a donor with the 4.0 and aw-4/np231 combo... -
looks ok, the only thing i don't like is how it tapers towards the bottom, you lose a bit of storage there....

Parking brake cables rubbing on rims
WBKrazy replied to bigalpha's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yeah, there's supposed to be a spring there, mine are gone as well on both sides, i ended up using steel hose clamps and clamping the cables to the leaf spring -
