small world! anyway i've decided to bring this thread back to life! a few friends from another forum i'm on are planning a wheeling date for either nov.1st or nov.8th in exeter, RI near the CT border, actually from what i understand the trail crosses from RI into CT near the end.. once i know the final date i'll post it up, but would anyone be interested, and if so would either the 1st or the 8th be better for you?
-
welcome!

RI also had the coldest june on record this year, and during june it also rained 20 days out of the month... hell, we didnt even break into the 80's until end of july/august here and we really only had about 2 weeks of summer weather. i don't think the earth is warming as much as weather patterns are shifting... the midwest is warming up a bit, while the east coast is cooling down.. noone knows what's really happening but there's money to be made so its no holds barred...

/ \ yes i have! apparently ducks do wear garter belts, but only during mating season. > i have a bad tendency to spend scads of money on vehicles, and when they are about 75% complete and only the big ticket stuff is left to do, i get bored and sell them for another project in sad shape.. \ / what's your favorite football team?

a '97 will definitely have an abs light on the dash... weird problem... the brake light usually only comes on for two reasons... low fluid or the e-brake is on... yet the fluid is full and the pedal is hard... my guess is its either the booster or something in the abs...
-
hmm... well the fluid might have just been low because the brake pads are wearing.... usually a brake fluid leak doesn't go away unless it's fixed... is the abs acting up? my GF has a '99 blazer, and the abs module took a dump (i think, i scanned it with a gm tech II scanner and nothing came up and the abs light wasn't on so i just pulled the abs fuses) and it was like stepping on a brick, then all of a sudden the pedal would be normal again, you could hear the abs pump going crazy under the hood and the wheels would almost lock up.. if there's no problems with the abs then yeah the booster may very well be shot, usually when they go bad you can hear a little bit of a vacuum leak with the pedal pressed down

not sure about the shift rod, the shifter itself may be NG if the rod keeps popping out of it.. shift knobs can be had from just about any junkyard, the shift rod threads are M10X1.50, so if you find a shift knob you like that has different threads than M10 , you can make your own thread adapters if you have access to a drill press and a metric tap and die set.. the shift knob i put in mine came from a freightliner, and it has 1/2x13 threads, so i took a 1/2 bolt, stuck it in a drill press and drilled out the middle of it, then tapped out the inside to M10 threads, then cut the bolt head off and there's your thread adapter

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Police in Framingham, Mass., say an illegal immigrant from Guatemala entered a police station, told officers he had stolen another man's identity and asked to be deported because he could no longer make ends meet in America. Police told The MetroWest Daily News they arrested 29-year-old Carlos Boc after he confessed Saturday night. Lt. Paul Shastany said Boc told police he wanted to return to Guatemala but can't afford a ticket. He told police he has no job or money and is worried about surviving the winter. He told police he came to the U.S. 13 years ago.

hmmm.... what model chevy is it, year, engine etc? anyways, start with the basics...check all the fuses first, including the ones under the hood.. if all of them are good and it's still not getting fuel, turn the key on and listen for the whir of the fuel pump...if you can't hear it, try lightly whapping the tank with a bat, or a stick, etc...

what be your problem?

does that include r&r? or is it just the price to have the transmission rebuilt? i just paid a little over double that about 6 months ago having the 4L60E in my chevy 1/2 ton rebuilt, that was with r&r and and a surprise $250 charge for a new front driveshaft cause the slip yoke was seized...
-
has anyone on here used them? and if so, on what and how did you like them? i just ordered the 3in. dual exhaust kit for my chevy 1500, as shown here..... Image Not Found it was a tossup between this and a flowtech truck toobs setup and the summit system won, mainly because of price and availability... i figure pipes are pipes, and if i don't like the sound i can always swap out the muffler.. just wonderin what people thought of em....
