  1. bummer I saw the title and thought we were going to be talking about the cheerleaders..
  2. nice job, good to see more Portlanders, I'm not to far from you in Hillsboro
  3. Hillsboro, Oregon myself, Comanche isn't in running order yet on the account of no driveline in it yet :P
  4. I'll take a look in my XJ parts car and see if I don't have a couple in there
  5. Amazing looking truck, and the work into is superb
  6. And they're all 23 spline? if so I'll take the short one in a heart beat!
  7. awesome, I appreciate it.
  8. the blower motor should be exceptionally easy to access even with the dash. Just open the hood, on the passenger side theres 3 bolts that hold it in, its the round deal in the corner.
  9. No thanks, only thing I need is the input gear, and seddie an input gear from a 231, 233, 241, 242, 243, 246, 247, and 249 will work for me, Just has to be short or medium
  10. excellent work, I can't stand the renix wire mess!
  11. I'm looking for a single piece off a broken or other wise unusable transfer case. I'm in need of a 23 spline, short or medium input gear. if anyone knows of one please let me know, I'm located in portland oregon.
  12. 94+ ZJ would be the best bets.
  13. Also all 242's out of ZJ's are 23 spline
  14. don't quote me on this, but the 242 out of the ZJ, XJ and maybe the KJ? I know the continued using them in the liberty's from 02, but I would stick to ZJ and XJ's. They are more sought after so I could only assume they will be harder to find but it all depends on the saturation in your area.
  15. 242's come in 21 spline and 23 spline, For your transmission though I believe you need a 94+ 242 and unfortunately they come in long medium and short input. Medium is quite rare though. Thats all the information I know about them
  16. You could keep the 231 easily by switching the input gear on the 231 with the input gear of the 249, I'm actually doing this myself picking up a used 249 for the input gear alone. and you can eliminate the vacuum system right now by bypassing it. Cruiser Just gave me this link not more than a couple hours ago. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/free-d30-cad-bypass-91-a-38629/ do this retain the D30 save some money and make life easy Also all 249's are 23 spline so even a cracked 249 you pick up cheap would work. although, You might need to find a 249 from 94+ This is a great website for information http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np_nvg_input_gears.htm
  17. Alright another question So today I pulled out the Cherokee engine from my parts jeep, which is a 2wd 91 cherokee manual , and there are some connections on the transmission that arent on my ax15 4wd from what looks like a YJ. There seem to be 2 connections on the 2wd and only 1 on the 4wd, does anyone know what the connections are on the 2wd or have a diagram? Anyone ever rebuild a ax-15? how hard is it? Getting close to a running comanche! Just have to rebuild the tranny, hook the transfer case up and drop the engine in.
  18. I think the D30 max gears are 4.88
  19. Alright so I've gotten my 89 MJ pretty much stripped, engine removed, interior stripped down to just the heater box. So my MJ is a 4.0 Auto 4x4, My parts car is a 91 4.0 XJ Manual 2x4. I've already purchased a 4x4 Manual transmission. My plan is to change everything I can from the 91XJ to my MJ, Engine, Wire harness, Dash(its in better condition) Doors, hood fenders etc So my questions start off My MJ Speedometer was by wire from the Transfer case, The 91 doesn't have that, and it seems its electronic? By using the Wire harness will it eliminate the need for the wire to the TC, and can I just leave that hole open? Anyone have any idea if the Manual and Automatic firewalls are the same? I noticed there are a couple holes near where the Master Cylinder go just havent found someone say they used it for that. Hm Thought I had more questions, Anyone have any advice on this kind of swap? Previous experiences?
  20. Great looking MJ, hope to get mine up to par one of these days.
  21. http://comancheclub.com/topic/18588-xj-dash-harness-to-rear-mj-harness-wiring-guides/ Imagine this will be what I need to follow? which seems to be pretty straight forward. So with that guide, and a complete engine bay swap everything should be working correctly?
  22. I'd like to do a full swap, I wanted to clean up the renix harness to the new style anyways, so I figure as long as I have a full donor car it should be relatively easy. The front of the comanche should be pretty self explanatory the engine bays look identical so it should just be a simple swap maybe drill some new holes. But the rear of the truck is something I wouldnt know. Will the gas tank run on the new harness, I know it will be backwards since the renix reads opposite than the chrysler. Only bad thing is the XJ still has the dummy lights in the cluster.. so will have to change those regardless
  23. Keep in mind I have a complete donor, just have to rebuild the ax15, or figure out why it gets stuck in gear
  24. So I have an 89 mj and just picked up a 91 xj for parts mainly body, but how hard would it be to do a complete swap of the engine, wire harness, dash, cluster etc. The only thing is this xj has what I assume is the ax15, and my mj has an aw4 if I want to keep it auto what would I need extra, or viceversa if I wanted to convert to manual what would I need to change on the mj
