  1. Thanks for the compliments guys, I appreciate it.....I killed the MJ this weekend...gonna tear it down tomorrow and see what the damage is. Looks like I broke the #1 rod and slung it through the pan. From what I understand water isn't that great of a fuel additive,,,haha....But I had a lot of fun before that happened. Like they say, it's all fun and games till someone throws a rod... I splashed this puddle a little too hard. The tow rope of shame, and there's my buddy Dan's MJ next to mine. Also a side note: I built the YJ that's pulling me, 4.2/727/231/waggy 44s,35" BFGs. Here's some pics of some cool Jeeps at our Jeep show this weekend in no particular order. We had a professional photographer at the show. You can tell which pictures are his. I still haven't fixed that broken shock,,,:) See, fat boys do fit in an MJ  Two of these are mine. Just girls having fun in the mud and drizzling rain. I love em but their tweeny girl music just kills me. My XJ was present too. This beast is called "Shrek"...my 13 yr old loved riding with them. DJ Darkopz Something weird about this mud here is it turns some tires blue...?
  2. Oh, and those 2 door XJ quarter windows with vents are kinda rare.
  3. I think it was sometime in 93' or 94' when Chrysler added side impact beams into Cherokee doors. I think it would be a worthwhile upgrade for MJs and early XJs.
  4. Yeah $19K on a new jeep renegade or cherokee or spend that money on an ultra cool Buick GN? No brainer in my book. However if a cool built Commando was available at the same time it would be a tough choice. :)
  5. Wow!
  6. Only two cars have been on my mind lately. I don't think I'd ever spend the $$$ on a new car when you can pick up a Grand National or a Delorean for under $20-30K....not a single car made today is as cool as a Grand National IMO. (GNX Pictured) The Delorean, yeah, not a great performing car, but its cool too!
  7. Nice Truck, keep in touch with us, you've got your part sources here. But don't forget to look at XJs too.
  8. A WK with a 2" lift and 31"s or 32"s looks pretty good. There are a couple of companies that sell small lifts for the WK. If you want to get into bigger tires or lifts then you're looking at more serious modifications. Keep it mild and driveable. It'll look great and still perform.
  9. The windshield wasn't leaking when I bought it but I guess these offroad trips popped it loose. I found that it wasn't original glass and that someone had previously seal it with bathroom caulk and then again with clear silicon. It started leaking real bad so I popped it out and cleaned it up and resealed it with butylene. Ended up a little too close to the pillars but it isn't leaking anymore.
  10. I have a couple of friends with the the $300 Smittybilt 9500 lb winch. It performs better than the other cheap winches, but doesn't look cheap. They're warrantied and Smittybilt even replaced the cable connector for one friend free of charge after one of the pins broke in it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JXS3BXI/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687502&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001CF1Y0C&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0X5KB5VTHBGJ2Q9HERH8
  11. Does it start and die with the shifter in Neutral also? Also, what does the rotor and cap look like on the inside?
  12. Man this truck is super sweet!!!!
  13. Is it possible to make a 4x4 super turbine 300? Don't they share the same rear tail housing pattern as a TH350? Anyone ever done that? I'm putting a Turbo Buick V6 in my 3A and I'm thinking I wanna go with a short automatic. The shortest is the glide and the ST300. I wanna limit the number of adapters. Been looking for a BOP powerglide but haven't found one. But I have found a take off ST 300 which has the BOP pattern. If the tail housing matches then the Novak TH350-D18 adapter may make this idea work. I've had a couple of close calls lately with this stupid carbon fiber leg and even though I prefer sticks, I think I'm gonna switch all my rigs over to autos. My foot twisted on me the other day when I hit the brakes hard and I ended up smashing the gas and nearly caused a wreck.....It's making me a nervous wreck. :(
  14. I know right! But I want em both! :driving:
  15. Thanks Ben, I was lucky to get it. Its really a time capsule......and before the lift I was getting 23 mpg! Not sure what it is now. I was gonna keep it small and put some new 235s or 245s on it but I like the way it looks with the 32"s now. I will have to buy new tires for it soon, I haven't made up my mind on what to do with it. I do wanna keep it simple, lightweight and as original as possible....and get good mileage.
  16. So much easier with a tractor! My 32" BFGs MTs were shot, so threw on a set of 32" ATs for a recent trip to Durhamtown Offroad Park, I traded for em, I'm not really a fan of the wheels. This was a really fun trip, I took my 11 yr old and he had a blast. My buddy Russ' and his safaried out Zebra YJ, its cool. My buddy Mike's TJ, he's a retired C-130 crew chief. This is my buddy Brian's nicely put together TJ. He's had it in the "Ooops" section in JP mag a couple of times. I let my son take the wheel in this little dirt mound area, let me tell you his eyes were focused! I have a manual drivers seat in it temporarily till I get the electric seat working again. I'm in this video, my friend Steve has the green YJ with the winch attached. https://youtu.be/TdojB9v5SYE https://video-atl1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hvideo-xap1/v/t42.1790-2/11832588_521513808000385_505414622_n.mp4?efg=eyJybHIiOjc5OSwicmxhIjo1NTcsInZlbmNvZGVfdGFnIjoicmVzXzQyNl9jcmZfMjNfbWFpbl8zLjBfc2QifQ%3D%3D&rl=799&vabr=444&oh=47ab184ed2e2cfb0b7c5600b51cd6097&oe=55D419DC
  17. I haven't had a lot of time to keep up with my projects and builds lately on CC but here's one I've had since this summer. I flew to TX to see family and I ended up staying later and picked up this nice little XJ in Austin, super cheap. It was used by a retired couple and flat towed behind their muliple RVs. It had 180K on the odometer but it was towed for around 115K of that 180K. It spent its life in South TX and being towed on the California coast. Its rust free. I figure its actual mileage is probably around 70-80K but there's really no way to be sure. I've converted it to an open cooling system, ditched the D35 for a 99' 8.25 and a trac loc. I also added about a 4" lift. It also came with a full set of 1989 service manuals. They're visible in the pic below. Took it on a little getaway with the wifey to NC. We went to the Biltmore and rode a few trails in Gorges State Park. Mild stuff but still fun. The Horsepasture River. There's a lot of nice waterfalls around that area..
  18. Looks like good stuff.
  19. I've been through 10 gallons of parts washer solvent from Advance Auto. Even though it works well, at $75/5 gallons I'm not buying anymore of it. I've got some things to get clean and was thinking of using some mineral spirits or making some sort of concoction with it. What do you guys recommend for a small parts washer? I think there needs to be some sort of lubricant in the solvent for the pump too.
  20. You are the protector of Liberty, Justice and Freedom!
  21. Yes, the AMC seatbelts and any black interiors. If you're JY'ing a lot, then its good to keep certain things as cores. A 2wd front beam axle won't bring $2 in scrap but its worth $30-$50 as an axle core. Also sometimes hot rodders are looking for 2wd front axles for their projects and will pay a lot more for a good one with brakes. As far as rear axles you can sell the shafts and gears etc and keep the bare housing as a core, same with a bare 4 cyl engine block. They're not that heavy when stripped down. But you know all that haha...:)
  22. Damn that's a beautiful Renix engine bay!
