  1. yeah, guess I had the cheap and weak ones. Last one was a world class so I was told when I bought it, broke it too,,,,,,because I flat towed it without a driveshaft and drained it dry, then drove it like Steve McQueen with a 68' Charger on his heels. Like I said, I wasn't too smart with the clutch 22 years ago. Good times, I hate breakin stuff now.
  2. Bucket list Jeep, rarer than an MA or even a Bantam prototype. Would love to see solid production numbers confirmed from Jeep,,,,probably doesn't exist now since it was AMC though. What other vehicles received the Renault 2.1? Any Euro cars that could be donors?
  3.
  4. Thought those were mirrors that came as an option with the tow package? Kinda looks like a short bed but I thought all 86's were long bed, if it's actually an 86 and has the tow package then it should have a flanged 4.10 geared AMC 20, which would be a real score.
  5. T5s were meant for 4cyls. I had a 65 mustang and stupid me swapped the T10 four speed for a T5 for the overdrive. It had a warmed up 289 and would break a T5 at will and it wasn't really that strong of a motor, maybe 250 hp. I went through 4 or 5 of em. But I was also thought I was Mario Andretti slamming gears back then, too young and stupid to take care of my stuff. They'd probably last just fine behind a stock 4.0 with a mature driver.
  6. Busted water main?
  7. Its an 81mm mortar ammo can. I've got two M249 ammo cans also, one is for tools, one is for my air hose and winch control.
  8. Its out of the way, no real loss of bed space.
  9. Nah, these things are worth a lot of money on the antler market. Would be nice if they were a commodity but they're not, they're rare and people with restaurants, outdoor shops, etc will pay good to hang non-typicals on the wall. They're conversation pieces and keep people intrigued and staying in the business longer, which equates to more money spent while there.
  10. Canucks taking command of the short track so far tonight.
  11. It's about beer and deer right? :)
  12. TX non-typical whitetail.
  13. Think I posted this before, but here's one my two brothers found while hog hunting. Been dead a few days so we did a European mount.
  14. Give credit where its due, Russians can skate.

    Russia

Look, Russia is a essentially just a big giant third world country that should have never tried to match us culturally, economically, or militarily. They're seriously a massive country of alcoholic back woods rednecks, and I'd match all my kin against theirs any day except when the winter Olympics are in question...... So far in the olympics, it looks like we should have never challenged them on the ice rink. Gotta pick your battle right and take your losses. We're gettin whooped in skating and I doubt we'll repeat 1980.
  16. Hey Dave, welcome to the are and to CC, look up the Mantanzas Jeep club, they're a good bunch of folks. They came up for our show and vice versa.
  17. I was watching the Walking Dead marathon. Wasn't even tempted to watch the bowl.
  18. Thanks for the tips! Yeah I've been watching some videos of these things boosted with 500hp with the stock bottom end. I'm not sure whats wrong internally. The mechanic I picked it up from said it had a knock. The girl evidently bottomed it out on something. The oil pan is cracked and there's a new oil pump in the passenger seat. I'm going to get it in and see if it'll run. Also, she lost the long yellow plastic plug that surrounds the dipstick and plugs the crankcase. Either it was blowing oil out the dipstick tube or it leaked it. The oil light kept coming on and the girl kept adding and adding. It had 5 quarts too much when it was dropped off at the other mechanic's house.
  19. Anyone familiar with Audis? A friend of a friend was trying to help out a friend so he took her car to another friend who couldn't fix it so my friend mentioned to the friend that you should have brought it to her friend (me), being friendly to my friend's friend, I said I'd take a look......looks like it needs an engine swap, which I haven't really laid the hard news on him yet.....if the original friend didn't have such a nice pair of legs, he and I wouldn't be in this mess. Now I gotta fix a freakin audi. I'm on the hunt for a 1.8T audi/vw engine now, oh well.
  20. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  21. Great info!
  22. Welcome!!! MJ with SRT 4 running gear in the future? Haven't seen that yet.
  23. Take the WJ glove box and cut the back of it off, then shape a new box with cardboard then use epoxy or fiberglass and make the box portion shallow enough to fit. Then it will still look clean when closed.
