  1. I would choose the Cooper. One of the few who still manufacture tires in the USA. Also take a look at the Disocoverer ST.
  2. :dunno: The only "I" product I have is a 10 yrs old ipod. The only reason I have it is for my TJ with the Mopar Ipod integration. My wife wants every "I" product out there..... I don't get it either.
  3. My wife, girlfriend at the time, was THRILLED I got the rusty MJ. Granted, that also meant I was getting rid of my mint Miata. I don't think she liked that car too much....
  4. Sure sounds like oil pan or rear main.... But another possibility is the valve cover gasket. If its leaking in the back it can look like a rear main.
  5. :clapping:   Looks very sharp!
  6. Jim - didn't you get the truck that died on I70 outside of Denver for free? It was a members truck who was moving to cali or something, if I remember right.
  7. A no rust basket case would sell for $1500 around here. It really depends on your location. A no rust basket case wouldn't be worth the same in WI as it would be in AZ.
  8. :wrench: I miss working on the MJ and all of the headaches/frustrations it gave me. "hello, body shop.... i want my truck back" :fs2: I'm so hard up to work on the MJ that I have resorted to working on my folks 93 XJ.
  9. No start may be caused by a dirty CPS. If you were slipping the clutch it is possible you flung some crud on it. You can release the ebrake by applying some pressure to the foot pedal and pushing up on the brake clamping mechanism. This would be easiest with a helper. Release handles can only be found used.
  10. It's not metal, but it is new: http://www.jeep4x4center.com/plastic-va ... 03857.html (I have ordered several items from this place with great luck) http://www.quadratec.com/products/51104_0012.htm (if you like q-tec for $10 less) Note: The two links above have the same manufacture part number.
  11. CF is something terrible that most folks simply don't know about. Joe will be missed. Rest in peace good buddy. JeepCo - I know he would want you to finish his truck.
  12. Beautiful truck! I really like how shiny it is. That is pretty darn rare for these trucks :D I have to agree with Don about the Trail Rated badges. PM sent in regards to the rear bumper
  13. Pig - I think there is something to be said about a company addressing a customer's issue on a public forum. Rather it be for explanatory reasons or to try an drum up more business, I know a lot of businesses would not want to have the discussion out in public view. I appreciate you finding us. I am afraid your statistics might be off. This ordeal has cost you two sales guaranteed, Backdraft and myself. As you know, the Jeep community is a tight knit group of enthusiasts. We are generally willing to pay a premium price for a premium product that comes with premium service. Although, 6 weeks with no product is unacceptable :shake: It will take another member (or two) to successfully order, receive and install before I will be brave enough to consider this bumper. I have have seen the Hanson quality first hand, and it is top notch. It is awesome that the MJ community is getting some attention from Hanson, but how can an MJ owner be pleased with the quality if they can't get the bumper?
  14. I have a set of good XJ packs, not sagged at all. I would be willing to pull out the two mains and ship them to you... Provided you cover the shipping cost.
  15. Where are you located? I will gladly swap my non leaking D35 for your leaky version. Its under my project truck but will be scrapped because I have a D44 for it. I also have a 29 spline 8.25 I will let you have for $75. If you have a buddy who can weld, this would be a very good and cheap option. No money now? Just keep the 35 filled with fluid and save for a swap. A mechanic will probably charge you $500 to replace the pinion seal. Consider your options: 1. Replace pinion seal per the recommendations here. Risk altering the gear set up or having no issues. 2. Top off the 35s fluid and drive. Put pennies in a can and save for an axle swap. 3. Let a mechanic touch your axle an pay a hefty price. More than likely this will cost much more than an axle swap. I was not aware the 35s had build dates. If you remove the diff cover and look at the axle shafts you will be able to determine if you have a c clip axle or not. The clips will become visible if somebody pushes in on a tire, allowing the clip to pop into view. The c clips are clipped around the end of the axle shaft inside the differential.
  16. Unfortunately I don't find this very surprising given the 'authority' TSA agents have. That said, I refuse to take a commercial flight as long as the TSA keeps foun what they are doing. I mean really, does flying commercial save time any more? Drive to airport, find parking, wait for shuttle, find ticket counter, wait at ticket counterl find gate, wait in TSA line, step out of line to finish your water, wait in line for TSA, run through scanner, get pat down, wait for plane to arrive, wait in line to board, wait for take off, fly, wait to get off plane, find luggage, find transportation line, wait for transportation then finally get on your way to your destination... :fool:
  17. Josh, your truck looks good and it sounds like you have a very solid plan in store for it! I will certainly be following your build. Welcome to Comanche Club and THANK YOU for your service :USAflag:
  18. Beautiful truck! Some how I have missed what your interior looked like over the past few years. Don't know how I missed it, VERY clean  Congrats!
  19. :???: 1. Jeep got death wobble. Upon inspection it was noted the axle end trackbar bracket bolt hole was 'ovaled' out. 2. Drilled stock axle end trackbar bolt hole in plate steel. Welded this piece to the front part of the axle end trackbar bracket. 3. No more death wobble. 4. If the death wobble returns due to the axle end trackbar bracket becoming 'ovaled' out again, the entire bracket will be removed, reinforced, and reinstalled
  20. My buddy repaired the axle end trackbar bracket by welding plate to the FRONT of the bracket only. It cured his DW 2 years ago. He said if the DW come back from the bracket, he will cut it off and weld a new unit in place.
  21. I asume Mike went with the JeepSticker tailgate letters. Spencer provides a great product and even better service. I have a few pics of my stickers on the tailgate in my build link in my sig.
  22. I had to laugh out loud when I saw the two laptops. That would be the most effective way to compare the two sets of schematics. How are you going about recording what splices you made and what wires are connected between the two harnesses? I just asume you are doing some sort of record keeping with your engineering background.
  23. :wrench: Welcome and WOW. I want to follow this build. Most of us here would have called that one long gone, stripped it and hauled it off.
  24. I do like it. Similar to my hidden winch concept I was working on. I might have to pick one of these up. I highly doubt I could build my own for much less than he is selling these for.
  25. I love the styling of those trucks. I would love to have one, even though I don't need one. Best of luck to you obtaining that FC!
