    Prop Valve

I have one from my 92 project. won't be using the prop valve as my project evolves. It is not blown out and does not leak. My brakes always worked fine, but I do not know if it 'works' as designed. Want it? I can pull it tomorrow. Do you need the axle rod/plate assembly? $35 shipped?
  4. It was probably time for some brown dog mounts anyhow. So was the chev going up or down? I got a little confused, probably since I always try to go up ledges instead of down them.
  5. Welcome! Tuttle is by far the best place for free wheeling in the Midwest. I grew up 30 minutes from the park, so I know it inside and out. If you are ever headed down to wheel, let me know and I'd be glad to join... with my TJ that is :rotf:
  6. No problem. I miss read the ad, thought it said Iowa :shake:
  7. Have one under my project truck. I could pull it for you and install my upgraded axle. D35 200K miles 3.55s Worked great in the truck. Did not have a problem with it. I can get it to Kansas City very easily. How far is that from you?
  8. Heck, I don't know
  9. I have heard, in less extreme cases, that you can break open the benadryle and rub the powder on the affected area for additional relief. Any truth to that?
  10. I prefer to use CL over eBay. Heck, I have not used eBay for at least 8 years. Sure, there are plenty of idiots posting/replying ads on CL. However, I have purchased many quality parts from folks on CL. An MJ D44, 2 97+ XJ clips, 97+XJ interior, my 92 MJ, a 99 XJ, and a 242. You just have to weed through the jokes. Even sold my Miata using CL. I have had the most success by communicating via e-mail to get the dirt on the part. After some rough discussion about the part I like to then talk on the phone to establish a time to meet-n-buy. Its also easier to get the price down when personally analyzing the part.
  11. I am in need of an OEM 97+ XJ front driver fender. Color does not matter. Apparently one of the fenders I picked up was an aftermarket unit which fits rather poorly. Thanks, Brett
  12. I have a smaller red utility trailer and I wish it was black. But red with some chrome boxes would look great too. Come to think of it, my folks have an 87 Malibu Sunsetter boat sitting on a bright red trailer (owned since 90) with the proper 80s era gold wheels. It looks good when pulled behind a white rig.
  13. I know I am a little behind here, but that is one of the best looking motorcycles I have ever seen. Granted, I generally just don't like 'em.
  14. Maybe not the police, but the sheriff on the other hand...
  15. See that's the thing... you just can't escape.
  16. Thanks for the info. We'll be there Monday-Friday. I actually have a room at one of the lodges for our stay. Decided this would be easier than camping. Usually we just do trail side camping out in CO. Are there any trails to take a Jeep on within the park? Due to our limited time up there, we probably won't venture to far out of the parks. If so, where should I find information? Still trying to decide if its worth it to take the TJ. Normally I would take my folks XJ because the TJ gets such terrible mpgs, but it has been acting strange lately. Driving the whole way with a 33mpg Camery sounds pretty good too. And yes, we BOTH agree the TJ is more comfortable on long trips. I want to avoid the whole, why didn't we do/bring THAT, once up there.
  17. At the end of September my fiance and I will be headed up to WY for our honeymoon. Neither of us have been to this part of the country before so it seems like a good idea. We'll be driving from Garden City, KS to Steamboat Springs, CO then on up for 4 nights. We'll stop in Woodland park on the way home at her grandparents cabin before ending up back in Garden. I am seeking the thoughts and opinions of anybody who has been in the area. What I would like to know is, do we need a plan? Usually we go camping in CO then just head out on the trails in the Jeep with a map and some vague destination in mind. Will the same mentality prove usefull at the Parks? She is a photographer and I am a sucker for natural landscapes. Also, is it worth it to drive the TJ up there vs her Camery? I did notice there are some outfits that rent Wranglers. Are there any trails that would be worth a day or so exploring? We don't really like crowds and should be there during the off season. Are there any particular times of the day/week to avoid some of the well known attractions? Just looking for any advice from those of you that have visited this section of the country.
  18. I usually consider myself one of the lucky people who get to work outside. However it has been about 105 with 116 index. Having moved myself several times in the heat of summer, I feel your pain!

    BBQ

    I'll bring the stuffed jalapeƱos.
  20. The carfax indicated my truck was in 3 rear end collisions. The mangled bed corners, lack of a rear bumper, and tweaked frame rails confirms this.
  21. Well hmm. I don't think I like it, but not sure :huh???: Hope it treats you well. Those turbo'ed 80s cars usually require a lot of up keep. You'll be back to the dark side soon enough
  22. I pulled the 2 latch parts out of the hatch. 1 - plastic handle and lock assembly seen from the outside of the vehicle 2 - internal latch, what actually holds the hatch shut Everything is in good working order and includes the necessary linkage. Still need it?
  23. Big Bear has deeper gearing and a milder cam. I have considered replacing the Wolvy 1st gear with the Big Bears for a little extra umph.
  24. I learned to ride ATVs in 96 on my fathers new 95 Yamaha Wolverine. That machine is still running on the stock motor. I bought myself a 00 Wolverine in 02 and it is also still running the stock motor, with exeption of a replacement stator since the PO burned it up. These are a prehistoric 2 valve 350 with full time 4x4. These are excellent machines. We used to take them out to CO for a week evey year, riding about 100 miles of trail per day. The smaller bore makes it struggle some at high elevations, but when jetted properly they will run up to 14,000 ft no problem. We since discovered Jeeps are far more comfortable out there. I have ridden a Grizzly 700FI with the power steering and it was great. A little large for my personal taste though. Consider the Kodiak 450FI as well.
  25. Generally I would say armor (skids and bumpers). But, I see you are south so I imagine most of your wheeling is mud, which armor will not help you. Having lifted a few Jeeps, this is what I would do, if I lived in mud country. - Tow points, front and rear - Sway bar disconnects. - Axle work. Lock, gear, and upgrade. Yes, the 4.56 will be a tad deep for a stock truck, but not unbearable. - Lift as desired.
