  1. speaking of cooling, i just found out the other day from a guy that runs a specialist volvo shop and is now building a jeep... the electric fan from a 960 volvo is big/high power enough to run ONE fan only and cool the 4.0 and you should still be able to keep your stock elec. one as well with it if you manage to find one. killer cooling power.
  2. you guys must have soem sticky friggin tires... blow a D35 behind a stock 4.0 on stock tires??? i know it DOES happen every once in a while... but it can't be that often. i slam the gears around in my 4.0 with a BA10 and 35... it couldn't care less, different story for the tires though, the back right leaves clouds.
  3. this one? i wheeled with him/rode in that at tellico 2 years ago. :D ive got some of it myself. (ford explorer flares if you were wondering)
  4. detours offroad makes the one CW got (see hsi project thread) which allows the use of the stock bumper (modified with a cut in the middle-top section to allow the winch to sit there) looks rather nice.
  5. did you go with the spline upgrade kits? or just regular spline?
  6. yeah, some people get a SYE and have a front driveshaft lengthened to work. others just buy a new tomwoods or something.
  7. i thought rear main seal jobs were supposed to be a fairly easy/straightforward project? yall're making me not wanna do mine.
  8. i figured that out right before i read this post haha. i was like, OH made to account for the steel we throw on our trucks in place of plastic. GOTCHA. back on the same page here :brows: alcans are worth it, but i still wouldnt pay it if i had the option.
  9. you shoulda seen what i did to the back of an accord with no more than rusty's towhooks and a stock bumper. caused my clutch fan to go into the radiator and both lights on the drivers side to bust. other than that you can't tell i wrecked it. the back of that accord was straight ($#*&^^ed up. bumper was all over the place, trunk was almost hitting the rear window and i could see the stuff underneath the plastic peices where the frame was. :brows:  whoops.
  10. rear bumpers... XJ ones don't work. and noone makes a MJ rear bumper. but I'm having a local shop fab me up a wrap around rear bumper kinda like pongs old one (which is my inspiration) and its gonna tie into the frame rails with an extra X peice (saw that on another members bumper) and add as much weight as it possibly can to the @$$ end.
  11. :agree: we want picturesss!
  12. Oops, typo, meant $420 plus shipping. Considering what you get, it doesn't seem that bad. They're one of a kind springs made to compensate for that steel license plate frame you use instead of plastic. i... don't get it... steel license plate frames, alcans? whats the connection?
  13. thats also known as an a$$hole light... for those folks that want to draft 3ft off your bumper for added gas mileage.... or somethin like that. flick it on, and watch them slam on the brakes :brows: careful though, cops like to ride asses at times
  14. an ECTED like CW got may be a good option as well... not sure don't nkow much about them but its an electric run version of an air locker i think it can do posi/open/locked all in one? CW may chime in on that though
  15. whats weird is, when i was wheelin (on packed dirt trails) i nailed the frame, but never the rocker, the framerail was takin it fine though, and the rocker seemed fairly protected by it. (just a thought, don't know how relative or anything)
  16. JEEZ!!!! that ZJuggy is AMAZING. wow.
  17. pick it up, look it through. put it down. i never buy the magazines, not worth it IMHO. maybe if i had a subscription, but i can read through it in barnes&nobles for free.
  18. yeah 2-door doors are WAY huge. 4 door XJ and MJ doors are the same
  19. yeah, alot of times a valve cover leak can run down that area and look like a rear main.

    new parts

not that type of bike, but my stepdad's got a suzuki bandit 1200. runs a 10.something 1/4mi stock if that counts for anything :brows:
  21. :( I HATE GA
  22. our stock rims are hub-centric arent they? so it shouldn't really matter right? unless its the kind of rim that relies on being lug-centric?
  23. what, you don't like mounting/de-mounting tires on the side of the road when you're late for somewhere? (its gettin late sorry guys. :chillin: ill go to bed now.)
  24. :rotf: sorry, your PO sounds like a PITA.
  25. brother ran bias plys probly 90% road... bad idea. wore out BALD in a year flat under an XJ. (33" tire) i wouldn't do it for 75% road.
