on my brothers with the winch in front of the grill you've got to undo the grill and slide it out the side like a rear-slider window. you should be able to get it out like that, his winch is alot closer than that hoop looks.

OUCH! thats alot to replace... most autoparts chain stores will test the alternator and battery for you in house. you should be able to test the resistor... someone will know.

side note: he lives in TEXAS. i'd try some type of a flush man. and possibly a thermostat. we swapped engines on my bro's jeep swapped in the same rad, same waterpump, new 185 thermostat, literally the ONLY difference was the engine the coolant was going through. we pressure washed it (at a carwash ran the high pressure through it for a few min's) then swapped it... closed system thing runs 150* (thermostat is bad apparently) moral of this story is, flushing, and thermostats matter. :brows:

i too love the XJ, but drive an MJ. just the same animal, only the manche's cooler :chillin: this is my bro's XJ, RE 4.5coils+2"spacers super30+arb front axle, super44+detroit rear, 4.88s, 4.0l, winch, JCR bumper, NEEDS ROCK RAILS! and the shortarms are killing it, thing loves to teeter and pull a wheel a few feet up in the air. I'm suprised there's no dummies selling blown engine/run down dodge trucks for cheapcheap... i'd slap my jeep axles under that to make it a rolling chassis, and use it's axles. i cuold get some MOGs in the truck (installed) for 1200 prolly, guy wants em outta his shop. and loves my jeep :brows:

no hoop! i like it sans hoop. well, i change my mind... with the round lights the hoop looks better than those lights with no hoop. so, HOOP!

are you 100% sure your dash gauge isnt off? maybe its reading high if the switch kicked in at 190 in water then it should kick in at 190 in coolant/water. 190 is 190. unless the ground/power wires to the fan itself are bad and its not getting any power regardless... have you tried wiring it direct to see if it even works?

you should change the oil to get dry surfaces to seal up the temp sensor? am i :chillin: ?? i just wrapped the temp sensor in teflon tape and threaded it in

actually a friend of mine is a mechanic and he says in order for the K&Ns to filter better then the paper ones, don't clean em as often as they say to. he said if they are REALLY dirty clean em, but unless you are driving through dust storms and stuff all the time then don't. he says that at his school, the tests they ran on filters to see what worked the best, the K&Ns work best when they are dirty. don't ask me why but that is what their tests came up with. Alex well good then, cause mine is not-so-well oiled/cleaned... i don't think anyone has oiled it since tim bought it 2 yrs ago actually :roll:

wait, isn't this a CPS symptom? itll crank but not spark Crankshaft position sensor... found on the bellhousing someone else will know for sure.

swapping the yoke is not hard, an impact will make it a ton easier, and you need a real stour torque wrench (250ft lbs) to get the torque right. sheesh! ours only goes to 150ft/lbs

mj MJ just spend the last 2 weeks with a 4.0L in the back along with an engine stand and other miscellaneous parts of drivetrain... and still ran 70 on the highway up a hill. could've gone faster... but it'd be more efficient to just jump off a bridge and give my brother the MJ if i wanted to kill myself ;)

if its an AT its the worst one i've ever seen. they didnt do well in the GA clay until you got em spinnin real good. (3.55s and 33s spin fast anyways haha)

i've got the same one as GIRSMJ rusty's airtube with 6x9 k&n filter... they don't technically filter as good as paper filters. but they do sound nice.

a good rep for street/non-hardcore wheeling goes a long way. super swampers are TRASH on the road. but i've never seen a 2wd vehicle do the stuff my bro's XJ did while the t-case was out. those SS's performed. they (33" thornturds) got him up a hill climb with locked rear open front, 3.55s in the rain that we barely made 6mo. later with locked f&r 4.88s and 35" BFG muds. :dunno: those tires did go bald in 1 1/2 yrs though.

hahaha, "what the hell rear axle is tha?" i love running into fellow jeepers. people ask if my brothers XJ is a bronco or some stupid BS like that all the time. only body mods on that are flatblack paint (over all emblems, duh) and hacked fenders. (no flares) idk why they don't see cherokee? :nuts: i haven't seen any recennt pics of your truck man, got any more since the snow-wheeling ones?
