  1. damn near 6foot and 125 with shoes on, i'd agree with that statement. i wish i could bulk up some. haven't found the weight room... ever :redX:
  2. whaat, i can fit 3 people in my truck with buckets, thats me at 5'11 7/8ths  125lbs, buddy at 6' 160lbs, and another guy at 5'9ish 150ish and its not THAT bad, just gotta move for me to hit R gear and 5th. however, we are good friends. (note, i have a cooler as a console between the seats that the lid flips down to make a nice middle spot; note also, over 18 in GA in a truck you don't HAVE to wear a seatbelt so it IS legal: brows:.)however i wear my belt all the time.
  3. would this still be an issue with manual lockouts like he said? won't matter on the road, but offroad it will unless you plan on unlocking your hubs every five seconds.
  4. congrats!
  5. my main concern would be spring rates, your springs are going to be SUPER soft for racing. i don't drive slow, and we've got some curvy roads, i'd hate to race my truck with stock rate springs. maybe some stiff shocks would be your friend?
  6. yeah, definately, short arms and short shocks are killin him though. engine is next on the list though, not suspension its got ARB front, detroit rear, super30/44axlekits (full chromolly shafts) 4.88s, np231 with SYE and tom woods shaft, stock a/c OBA conversion, and 35" BFG muds. pretty much goes wherever you point it. its one bad heep.
  7. maybe slow it down a little bit? should be able to run ~60 with those gears if you didnt mind runnin 70 with the others. its only 1.11x what yuo were runnin so 62.9mph on 4.56 is the same RPM as 70mph with 4.10s
  8. i think the number for the stock clutch fan was 2000 CFM IIRC, so if you replace your clutch fan make sure it's above 2000CFM rating, or you may be runnin a little warm at the redlights. more than you could ever need to know here at go-jeep. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoElectricFan.htm
  9. i've got a stock mancheliner, i know cause it says COMANCHE up against the cab, it wraps over the sides and has screw holes all around the top, and bottomback edge where it was installed origionally on another manche.
  10. that's the NSS (nuetral safety switch) i bet your reverse lights don't work either? they can be cleaned, but i don't remember the writeup on how to do it. madxj probably. didn't 88swampedMJ have problems with his computer causing a no-start?
  11. my brother had a blue/wood 1984 grand waggy 4x4 with the 360, probably the single coolest jeep ive ever been in. i'd never sell my MJ for one, but if you want one that bad then go for it man, they are nice. his was nice but the frame/brakes/EVERYTHING was rusted to hell.
  12. thanks man! it honestly was about 5000x easier than the last times i've dealt with them, don't know what the difference was? but i even took an origional spicer out of the stub i used, only took about 10 good hits with a 22oz ballpeen. check out my wheelin pics at LAST!
  13. woke up at 6 this mornin, drove out to my brothers house (1hr 1/2) installed my freshly reujointed axleshaft, and driveshaft (been out for a while to prevent me from blowing up u-joints on a whim) and viola at 11 we were off to some local trails! (no, it didnt take us THAT long to get those two things in  haha.) anyways, PICS! i'm in the MJ, brother in the black XJ, and the blue YJ is his friend. here is my brother taking a REALLY stupid line... (he's VERY shock limited, so that tire is about 4' in the air.) i had to strap to him and slowly yank him back down as he reversed. no actual flop though just thought this one was interesting, that was some GROSS stuff, didn't mean to get in it... but somehow only the actual tire got dirty? all in all good trip, no (known) carnage, nobody got stuck (besides pulling my brother back to earth) so yeah, that was my day!!
  14. i was juuust about to say that.
  15. if your t-case has ever been split open you can check for odd colors or rtv or sloppy sealing jobs around it, you should be able to easily tell if its been messed with just by eyeing it.
  16. i was just laughin, not criticizin ma'am, my stepdad went through 7 beers by himself in the time we did one thermostat, its a jeep thing haha.
  17. :headpop: that seriously BLOWS about the ECTED man, hopefully itll get resolved peacefully, and QUICKLY! :hateputers: good luck man, you puttin the stock bumper on over the detours for the time being? and, my brother re-located his warn solenoid box to the area in front of the pressure bottle above the relay box. don't remember how he mounted it, probly zip ties knkowing him. just an idea for a location!
  18. sounds like if he spun front and rear tires on dirt... that there's no second guessing it's in 4wheel. you can't spin front tires without power to them... right? you could pull the rear shaft and see if itll move if you want a test without jacking it off the ground.
  19. well, success! called the guy i worked with there earlier, and then went up there and exchanged for the correct part, 5$ cheaper :brows:, came home, and 30 min later i have a complete pass. axle-shaft assembly that spins about like butter. all in all MUCH better u-jiont experience than last time (for those of you that remember my pilsbury 'womp' biscuit u-jiont cap explosion last time i attempted to change one  )
  20. so, i bought a new u-joint, given that the last one i bought blew up while installing it and i got the new one all the way in, before realizing that it had no place for clips to go.... ? i've now realized it is a driveshaft u-joint that just happens to come up because its the same exact size. it fits perfectly, but i can't clip it (outside style clips) is there any harm in not clipping it? (is there any harm in shooting the autozone people?)
  21. my main problem is gauges, no-tilt wheel + higher seats meant for me that i have to bend a little to view the temp and stuff. not an issue that much per-say, and i've gotten used to it. i LOVE my buckets. (but it would be nice to have the girl sittin RIGHT beside me.)
  22. oh, the club doesn't let us under 21 boys in the fridge anymore? didnt get the memo yall.
  23. yea i thought it got a paint job too
  24. your axle might be slightly off-center; track-bar needs changing at 4" though, supposedly 3" is safe. but if you do get wobbles just snatch some cheap adj. CAs and be done with it.
