1990 jeep comanche 4wd Part time light
Oizarod115 replied to Fred Padgett's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
sooo, in continuance with the vacuum disconnect... when i first landed my truck the p-t light worked perfect and it seemed to stop working right after the first time i got it REAL stuck but luckily its stuck ON not OFF. so i can use 4x4 (well i COULD) but when I'm on the gas alot (only in gear, not if i revv it up) the light goes off and comes on when i let off the gas... would you suggest cleaning the disconnect, or checking the vacuum switch in the engine compartment? 1989 btw. -nick aka pro-threadjacker -
good thing someone flattened those meats before it got driven... WOW!
-
:rotfl2: and they looked at us like dummies for having a donut as a spare with 215s hahahaha. wow. i bet the truck had gangsta limp f-real. haha.

1988 comanche 2wd axle swap
Oizarod115 replied to project88mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
it really is THAT easy... took my brother and i about hr and a half with plenty of breaks and at night. be wary though if its a manual ive heard they lock up quick when you let the clutch out... which can take some driving style adjustment. -
got the front end mocked up on the MJ...

when i get lifted and you get lowered (you'll probly beat me to it.) we need to have a get together and shoot the trucks together. itd be liek opposite manches. -
Quick leaf spring question
Oizarod115 replied to 87manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
you know the wheelbase is off a little on the right in order to make the trucks pull to the right (to keep you out of oncoming traffic) and no I'm not making it up... read it from marcus on go-jeep. could it be taht maybe? amplified by somethng you've done? -
just ether, carb&choke cleaner stuff... thats ether too. ive never actually done it, my brother has though.
-
its a uh.. redneck shade-tree method of re-seating a tire on the bead. only for use with sh%$TY tires or in a pinch like he said.

thats a cher-o-manche.. fooled me for a second though... i was real crosseyed. GOOD WORK (insert whoever did it here)!

Who knows about xj buckets in an mj?
Oizarod115 replied to Scott86mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
search around for bucket seats on here I'm sure you'll find more than i can tell you... all i know is that some of the seat options sit WAY high in the cab and others sit normal... so do some homework before you just grab some cause if you're 6'3 and swap in powerbucket seats you're not gonna be comfy -nick i have XJ seats that my PO put in. so I'm not sure what they are from sorry. -
mmm that makes more sense now.
-
i would check out the rubicon express kit as it covers ALL odds. doesnt leave anything untouched...seems like that would be the easiest to get approved.
-
I second that  i too second that.. and also rear bumpers similar in style to JCRs but for MJs and that wraparound/tie into the frame so as to protect the excess overhang.
-
well... the folks inquiring about it arent any smarter than the ones who made "homemade front suspension" using nothing but square tube... i see no springs there. and i quote "Hello, What is the time frame for pickup and do you have a title for the truck? Is the front axle a Dana 30 or a straight axle? Thanks," is it a dana 30 OR a straight axle? oh wait... maybe you should not ask questions if you don't know what you're asking. he says it has "older waggy axles." possible 44s f&r

my brother has the JCR 1-ton steering on an XJ... REALLY beefy hes got 35x12.50s and he bent to stock stuff up pretty bad but the JCR has held up so far.
-
yeah that sounds exactly like what my stepdad has that we use for charging cameras and stuff on trips. I'm gonna steal it and christmas light my truck though... :D can't wait til the sat after thanksgiving ill have time to light her up :brows:

i guess my buckets sit higher than usual then cause I'm 5'11 5/6ths and ive got barely any room. thats a pretty cool plan though, you'll have to get a DC-AC converter though. and my humbucker is an EMG81 as well... thing screams.

are these parts stock?
Oizarod115 replied to 1987MJfreak!'s topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Image Not Found stole that image from CWs post a while back... think i might've been thinkin of the wrong "bar" what is that thats bolted to it? well crap, now that i think about it that one isnt stock either. haha. Dirty is right, no adjustment available in the stock track bar.
