New doodads to install finally...
Oizarod115 replied to possum's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
mine is 85-90 stock?! weird. HOORAH! for early christmases -
you picked one of the fastest wearing tires ive seen. the 34 LTB's on a friends wrangler only managed to last 15k miles and they aint cheap. if you ask me theyre not good for annything. id reccomend anny bfg tire or the maxxis bighorn radial as they are cheap and last about 50k miles like the bfg's are supposed to do. note on the mud rovers. they are easy to puncture the side walls, but if your not going annywhere thats got stuff able to puncture a tire then id definetly consider them. mmk, thats what my brother said too. so for a street tire maybe. but tellico is just around the corner... and i have already cut one 235 pirelli locally. sooo i think ill stay away.

Squishy brake pedal
Oizarod115 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
sounds like what my clutchmaster did when it went out.... plenty of fluid, no air.. just went to the floor with nothign happening... it could be the brake master cylinder. DirtyManche is having an issue described similar to this... -
check out the Dunlop Mud Rover... 120something a tire for 33x12.50s at tirerack... pretty good price. probly what i will go with if i don't buy used ones off my buddy.

Brake warning light.
Oizarod115 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Put it in 4Lo. no front d/s it doesnt shift well. not that it won't do it.. but the front yoke is suposed to be spinning for it to happen properly. ADDITION: and doesnt that mean that my clutch is slipping? it wasnt THAT big of a hill.. that scares me. i don't wanna replace that anytime soon. -
Well enough. It's an easy run - they just show up because it's a charity event. And they like wheeling... My tires were the limiting factor. Damn the BFGs don't work in snow. ive never been fortunate enough to play in snow... just ice down here once a year (if we're lucky) buuut i have heard taht a/ts are best in snow... ive heard tires with tighter tread patterns instead of big huge lugs... (i could be completely wrong in which case you can me)

Oizarod115 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
soooo if we park facing DOWN the hill it should hold better? am i correct in assuming this? cause in some places parking in 1st with e-brake facing up hill it won't hold i have to chock it. -

yeah, if i went 360 it would be a JEEP 360 just for brand loyalty. my brother had a 360 grandwaggy so he knows all about the carbuerators on them and all that good stuff. he spent a month making his run right (had sat for 2 years before he bought it) does anyone know if a 4.0 rad would work with a 360? EDIT: scannin through novak a little bit, and it popped into my head that i don't really need 5 speeds considering I'm about to be running 32's or larger on 3.07 gears. 4 speed with granny 1st would be perfect. and i could avoid re-gearing for a long time. aka 465 or something comparable
-
well if i ran the 360 i'd just use a jeep tranny. 3550 or AX15 both can run it without TOO much stress. 3550 it wouldnt be a problem at all with that much torque but the AX15 isnt quite as strong

http://rustysoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=rustys&Product_Code=XJ-TH&Category_Code=rec_hit ive got those... real tough, used to be on my brothers XJ for 2 years before he got winch&bumper. (i love inheriting parts :brows: )

yeah, i was driving my truck once and headed for a light doing 45 (the speed limit) when it turned yellowTHENRED (note the fact i leave no spaces.) it was the fastest light, i thought about stopping... but there was NO way. had to run it. my baby doesnt like to stop from 45-0 in less than 50 ft.

 ill eat less if only i can have the portals and H1 beadlocks baby PLEEASSEEE!
-
alright so engine choice aside... what did yall with v8s do about fuel delivery? FI? carbuerated? how bad was the wiring? does the i6 radiator hook up with any of these V8s? cause i have a 3-core right now and a v8 actually has shorter cooling ducts making it probably just as easy if not easier to cool down?
-
yeah, i was checkin out novaks transmissions and adapters for pongs 435 i was thinkin bout that. so a 435 bolts up to a 350 and a 302? the shop up the street has a cheap 435 IIRC he either told me alot of $$ for the actual tranny or for the adapters to run the tranny... probly the adapters. lightness is always nice... the weight ratios are already WAYY off in an MJ as it is.. but 4.0s weigh a TON.
