  1. awesome
  2. i've seen a lot of sh&t in my day, but that.....was......awesome, oh sorry about your car man -tommy boy. awesome is the first word that came to mind when i saw that, not the good awesome, but the really sarcastic one. its amazing who they let work on cars.
  3. ha, i made a deal on a tractor today, i had to go to the atm, go home and get the mj, and come back. i was wearing flip flops. i made sure i went inside, and put shoes on. and sure enough, the two yahoos helping me load this tractor rammed the deck right into my foot. with my shoe on, half my big toe nail got bent up, when i took my shoe off i had a nice bloody sock, but its fine. if i would've left those sandals on though, i dunno what would've happened. basically it was a running start, ram the tractor over the bump between tail gate and ground, and jammed it into my foot against the wheel well with momentum. (backed the truck into a ditch, and it was practically level) so how ya healing mjeff?
  4. the lock cylinder should be held on by a clip from the inside. its just a u shaped clip that slides around it and holds it in. but most of them can be saved with penetrating oil.
  5. sure, back probe and graph the sensor signal on a lab scope.....duh.  just messin with ya.
  6. ya, on a renix bolt the manifolds on the head if its on the bench. ho motors its not nearly as much of a pain for some reason. i put a 185 t stat in mine. i never ever recommend anyone using a lower temp t stat in newer vehicles, expecially 96 and on. they need to run at 210 for a couple reasons. but on these old engines, i sacrifice the little benefit of running that hi, for longevity. mine doesn't even reach 175 in the winter, and i still have great heat. i would not do it in a renix cherokee, they're hard enough to get good heat in. new plugs obviously, as you said. ooh, check your motor mounts now, may as well replace them.
  7. thats always the first step.
  8. whats the condition of and the level of the fluid?
  9. i currently have 2 yj's, and i spend most of my time with them. different areas may differ, but for reference i paid 1,000 or 1200 for my yj project ( i think there's a link in my sig) it was an 87 with no rot or rust, but a blown motor. it took me 4 years to find one like that. if its not rotted out, don't hesitate on a deal on a yj. there's plenty of ways around the carb, it was a problem with the increasing emissions regs then.
  10. nice seats, but i think you paid a little to much
  11. bummer, i have full coverage on my jeeps, it only costs me like 6 bux more a month each.
  12. there's an idea, but i don't like typing addresses in the top because it keeps a record in the box that drops down. if i type in a search on yahoo, of coarse its all trackable, but it isn't just staring you in the face if you look.
  13. was a very nice truck, sorry to see that happen to ya. insurance??
  14. ^ both those points are why i said at home it keeps me logged in each visit, but i'm not doing that at work. so when i'm not at my home computer, i go through 3 screens just to get here.
  15. thats a nice find, probably snag it for 300 smackers, and wouldn't be that bad to get back on the road.
  16. I've been wondering about the first page of the site that comes up. I stay logged on at home, but at work, I have to type in the address or search, then the first page comes up and I have to click on "forums" or whatever it is, where the other one says "yahoo groups" I think. Then I have to log in, before I can even get started. That first page seems kinda redundant, there really isn't any thing on yahoo anymore right? Just wondering if anyone else thinks it shouldn't be there. I like the pics and all, but even that looks a little out dated, I think it says 2004. just a random thought

  18. that thing looks very rough, and it looks to be worth maybe 300 bux. and weren't you just all flustered cuz you guys can't afford any of your cars you have now?
  19. ^that thing is wicked cool, thats why we'll never see it. i have yet to see a new vehicle that made me want to go out and buy it, but that would do it. where do i sign?
  20. ouch, that sounds really painful. its stupid and i do it to. i go out and work in the garage for a few minutes, or go outside with flip flops on and then start working on something. definitely a bad idea. i've come super close to doing exactly what you did with the door uppers a couple times years ago. i've learned my lesson, luckily. gotta hold the door only. good luck through it all, and please don't post pics :rotfl2:
  21. for me, i merely call it an upgrade for filter selection. the chrysler filter is abundant, and fit almost every chrysler/dodge/jeep 6 and 8 cylinder for almost 20 yrs. where as the renix filter is not as common. therefore, selection of filters is increased at whatever store you are purchasing your filter by more than double. most stores carry one or maybe two filters for the renix, where as the chrysler filter you have 4 or 5 choices. for me it would be the same filter for my other jeeps, and also, i've missed out on sales on filters because the filter for the renix isn't the brand in stock on sale at the time. i didn't think of allowing for other bigger filters, thats a good point.
  22. i'm a fan of d windows more than soft 8's. soft 8's are on every tj it seems.
  23. i think you had a new non metric adapter already installed, and you removed an upgrade.
  24. oh please don't say that. i don't want them building anything the way they do things now with the comanche name on it.
  25. its called an oil filter adapter. is it possible someone switched it for the newer chrysler size? i am wanting to do that with mine, its a more common filter. try one for a 92, xj or mj. although, i have screwed on a later style filter onto the metric adapter before, it will go on, just not seal well.
