    walmarts here do
  3. there's gotta be some more story. they built the barn around the jeep?
  4. yes, you will get scratches. especially on hard tops if you run it. the trails are tight, and there's always a chance of damage. but even on a normal trip, you will have small scratches just from tiny tree limbs and branches that you do have to scrape across. most buff out, and i'm not talking about damaging scratches, just be ready for it. i wheeled with a guy there in a nice shiny yellow tj, and he left all disappointed because there will little scratches in his clear coat. so if thats you, don't bother.
  5. i had been a dedicated xj and yj owner for years, and found myself wanting to haul things around, wishing i had a pick up truck. i really didn't care for ford or chevy trucks. one day putzing around online, on google images i ran across a picture of wade's truck on the first page. i said dang, thats it, i want one of those. right away everyone wanted 3 grand, or nothing. but the ones that were cheap were no where near me to my knowledge. i posted a complaint about it on wrangler forum, and a guy from indiana said he's going to be selling one. my buddy and i drove 150 miles, picked her up, and i drove her home. it started snowing on the way home, worst blizzard i've ever driven in. first time i've seen white out conditions. we drove on the rumble strips because that was the only way to even know if you were still on the road, couldn't see 2 ft in front of you.
  6. ugh, what are those, ford rims? Stay away from no name tires, i've never heard of those. and also look at the dot number on each tire so you can see how old they are. you don't want anything over 4 or 5 yrs old.
  7. i have experience rebuilding rear ends. any day of the week i'd install a factory set rear axle of the same gearing for 200 bux before overhauling a bad one. there's way way more money in bearings, gears, and tools than 200 to rebuild a bad r&p correctly.
  8. my mj rear main seal stopped leaking on mine after a handful of frequent oil changes using valvoline max life. i'm not really a fan of adding stop leaks, but if it softens seals maybe its worth a try, imo thats what the max life additives do. i'm sure it depends on the severity, mine was not dripping, but no leak at all for quite a while now. i think frequent oil changes help prevent leaks. i can't prove it, but i see so many vehicles every day, and the ones who change their oil once or twice a year are all leaking. i think leaving oil in there with all the crap that floats around in it when its left in to long damages seals. just one yahoo's theory though
  9. did you try scaring it?
  10. officially tacky, between that and them mirrors :rotf: just rattling your cage man
  11. you can flush it by removing the return hose and i usually get a longer hose and tie them together, and route the return to a drain pan, have an assistant ready in the vehicle to start it, and you are constantly filling so the pump does not run dry, assistant turns it off. it literally takes usually around 10 seconds to have just as clean fluid going out as you're putting in, then you have 100% new fluid.
  12. well, how much do you have into it? you should be able to sell a running pick up on CL for 700 bones. it does sound like you bought one that was just neglected for a decade or so. and most vehicles wouldn't even still be going after what thats been through.
  13. sounds like your mj needs some serious work, but that doesn't mean an import is better. you have an mj in bad shape, that you don't feel is reliable. i'm on my 3rd xj, and drive my 90 mj more than my 96 xj. i've continued to buy these vehicles because they are extremely reliable. the only reason i ever sold an xj, was to buy another one, and the xj's i sold, were sold in good running condition with between 150 to 190k. (90, 91, and currently 96) in 10 yrs or so as a mechanic, i've never had a jeep come in on a hook. this doesn't mean they don't, it just means its more rare than other vehicles. my xj's, mj's, and yj's have never failed me. imo, a well maintained mj/xj is one of the most reliable vehicles around.
  14. no, but legit wheeling spots in the stupid midwest....yes.
  15. i like it, i'm finding myself drawn to the cars that were outcast in the late 90's or there abouts.
  16. umm, the neon is the same thing
  17. haha thats as bad as slowboyracing building a 30,000 evo and they toss it on the dyno with no oil in it. haha i was there that day it was funny. anyways when your 4G63 POS dsm breaks again check out our website. http://www.cimotorsports.net low prices fast shipping tell me why anyone takes a fresh engine to the dyno anyway?
  18. i think it doesn't matter who rebuilt it, whoever did it is guaranteed hack. look at the way things were seen to be done already. run away. and it must be bad if pat is saying he doesn't know whats going on in someone's head :rotfl2:
  19. i already ruined my screen when i read the above comment :rotf:
  20. wtf, lol :rotf: :rotfl2: thats sig worthy right ther. the motor was rebuilt to be a drag car, nothing to do with running that oil consuming, head gasket leaking, turd of a motor out of oil.
  21. ok, i'm glad no one got pissed at me, but c'mon, the whole driveline barely made it 100k.
  22. dang man, i hate to be a downer, but that engine is one of the worst around in most mechanics opinion. head gaskets are a common failure as well. and to top it off this thing has been beat on, i wish you luck though. i guess i could've just kept that to myself, i don't wanna be offensive, but i call it like i see it, thats all.
  23. i guess i understand the paranoia, they gotta watch out for everyone. anybody remember the movie boiler room, good flick. giavani reese's character is running an illegal casino from his apartment, and his dad starts flinging the poker chips out at the dinner table.....his mom says "are those drugs?" :rotf:
  24. how do you know? :brows:
  25. so what'd ya do with the yj?
