  1. Mine is electric, 36v. The charger came with it, but has been in the rain for years so it doesn't work. Borrowed one to see how well it works. After an all night charge, it ran around all day today with a full load of kids. Almost didn't have the juice to get itself back on the trailer when it was time to head home.
  2. Yea, I'm going to stand out with from the crowd around here and have a stock non lifted cart. If i want to get anywhere that the cart can't, ill use Big Red. I'm ahead of you on the bed part, already pulled the back seat off and put plywood where it goes.
  3. So a buddy works for a local school and calls me up yesterday. He says the school has some scrap to haul off and would i like to haul it, they only want 25% of what i get. Why not, so i hitch the trailer up and ride over there. Turns out the scrap is a 1994 Ez-Go golf cart. Been sitting in the same place for the last 6-7 years. We took off the tires and aired them up at the gas station down the road. Got back and tried to push it, but no go. One of the brakes was frozen. Beat that to death and got it to somewhat roll. I got it it home last night around 9-10. Of course the charger doesn't work after sitting outside all this time. I knew someone with a cart that the motor died, so i got his charger. Hooked it a few hours ago and so far it will run around the shop pretty well. Going to pick up a set of used batteries for it soon. Not sure what to do with it though. Got a few other toys in the shop too. Got a couple of 3 wheelers and a dual sport bike.
  4. The MJ has that buzzer, but it only works for the key in the switch. Doesn't fuss about the door or headlights. My XJ didn't have a buzzer at all. I killed the batt a few times by leaving the headlamps on. Fixed that problem when i installed my radio and hooked up the 12v switch source for the radio to the wire coming from the lights. The radio worked all the time, but if i left the lights on it would stay on. Good reminder there.
  5. Here are a few pics of the inside. Going to replace the seat with some tan buckets and a centre console. OR i may swap the whole inside over to grey, kinda like that idea better. Took it for a little ride through the trails on our farm. We have 48 acres with most of it being woods. Ive been working these trails for awhile now with the tractor and my Big Red 3 wheeler. Jeep can only get down the main one, can't make the sharp turn to go down the back. Also tried out 4Low and climbed up the hill we jump the trikes over. I know its nothing compared to what most do, but I'm pleased.
  6. Well i decided to take a peek under the carpets tonight and see what was going on. I'm very happy with what i found. The passenger side is great, nothing to worry about with it. The drivers side has some surface rust, but nothing major. When i have more time, ill pull it all back out and use some POR-15 on the floor. For now i had to get it all back together since i need the truck in the morning. Drivers side. Pass side.
  7. I was in search of a truck a few months ago, but got a Cherokee instead. Liked the Cherokee alot, but soon found that it wouldn't work well for what i needed. Saw an ad on Cl for a Comanche that the guy needed something with more room, so i emailed and we ended up swapping. On a side note, ive kinda wanted one for awhile as has my dad. He has a 2.8litre Nissan 6cyl diesel that he wanting to install into either a MJ or 2dr XJ. Once we find something, its going in.
  8. This is just what i want to do with my truck as far as the body goes. I'm keeping an eye out for a rear ended 97+ XJ. They look so modern with the updated front end.
  9. The truck got a little facelift today. The grille and headlight trim was in bad shape and didn't go all the way up the header panel, so i got a nice set off a Cherokee at LKQ. Talked the guy down to $23.78 for the 3 pieces. She looks alot better now. It would seem that the front end has been in a hard hit on the right side. The bumper is pushed back a little and the frame is somewhat crumpled up there. I know someone that has a frame shop, so i may take it there and have them pull it out for me.
  10. Nothing wrong with 4WD, except that i don't really have a use for it. I do 90% of my driving on road and never get into the mud. I used to have a Samurai and did a bit of offroading with it, I'm over that stuff. The truck sucks gas down compared to my Cherokee. If the transfer case or front end every give trouble, they will be replaced with 2wd parts. Got another pic loaded up.
  11. 1991 Comanche Pioneer, 4.0HO, 5sp, 4WD. 209k on the clock. Very little rust. Runs like a champ, but that flowmaster is too loud. Its my daily driver and trike hauler.
  12. New person here, but not totally new to Jeeps. I've had a '91 Cherokee for awhile, but its been proving to me that a SUV isn't a truck. About a month or so ago i set out to either sell or trade the Cherokee for a truck. Spotted a '91 Comanche on CL for $1500 that said they were selling due to needing more room. I shot off an email and was working a deal that afternoon. My XJ was a '91, 4.0HO, 5sp, 2WD and had 278k on it. We made the deal and did a straight trade. The MJ is a '91, 4.0HO, 5sp, 4WD with 209k. Not too big on the 4wd, but ill deal with it. It has rust over the rear fenders, but so far thats all I've found. Runs great so far. The starter was going bad, so i got one from the pick and pull. It looks a little rough, but I'll paint it in the coming months. I'm thinking OD green with white letters on the tailgate. Ill post more later on....
