  1. Makes sense to me. Wouldnt a locker like a detroit do the same thing with a CAD:IE send all the torque to the .........never mind..... :wall:
  2. OOWWWW.............It's too shiny! The shiny stuff hurts my eyes! Just kidding! Nice truck, it has my favorite colors on it, black and chrome! can't wait to see more to come.
  3. My KID does this all the time, I tell her she should do "this", She's stubborn, gets mad. Later on she always comes back and tells me "You were right dad, I should have listened, thank you." And to Freakjeep-grow up. You post about many different things in your life, when the heat is on, buckle down and deal with it! When your on a FIRE, your not going to be able to say"lock this thread,I don't want people to get POd at me" (hide under a rock :dunno: ), You want to hang with the adults, listen and do as they say, then start acting like one!
  4. Wow! I was on board to say scrap the XJ, use the parts from it to build another, much easier and cheaper. But I have to give many Kudos to you  that is AWESOME ! can't wait to see it when it's done.
  5. If you was going to do the cable route, why not just weld the spiders and have a disconnect-able spool in the front ? Seems like the same thing for a whole lot less.
  6. What are all those pink things on the top shelf ?And what you going to build with a radial arm saw ? How come you didn't ask for a welder or a plasma cutter or ? when missus Clause was being generous ? :dunno: Just kiddin, I'm envious, you got a wife and I don't (I mean a garage) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

    Woohoo!

They're kind of like twin sisters you were dating, one likes things one way, one likes it the other. don't get them mixed up cause they don't like any of their sisters stuff.
  9. I don't text so my deciphering skill aren't very good, which makes for your speed typing hard to read sometimes.
  10. I used kerosene ONCE. Now it's propane all the way. I use an unvented propane heater that is T-d off of the furnace supply,(already low pressure regulated) to take the load off of the forced air furnace. I don't heat anything totally with propane, I just use it to keep things at a livable temp. One of the negatives of burning propane is that the combustion byproduct of burning it is water and ammonia. The water vapor likes to condense on cold tools and make them rust. If your shop stays at a constant warm temp, this isn't a problem. Carbon monoxide? that's why warehouse forklifts burn propane, there isn't any(CO). Could you get asphyxiated? sure, from a lack of oxygen, not CO poisoning. BTW I like this heater, it's portable, versatile, has a fan that runs on batteries or a110V adapter. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... _200307957
  11. What, no "Trail Rated" badges on it? :rotfl2:
  12. Freak, not to be raggin on you, but, whether it be firefighting, or the military, somebody higher than myself is going to give you some schoolin on your computer etiquette. I know that a few people have commented on your linguistic skills, I myself haven't said anything till now. I know you got the needed skills, I seen you use them when you posted about your Canadian soldiers, all I'm saying is that in the adult world noboby is going to want to try and decipher this: (Quote-freekjeep: nah my community only has a voulenter fire department. if i move to the city i will but i like out department more than other departments. i don't knkow ehy i just do . were quite layed back but very professional if that makess ense. As a firefighter or a soldier, reports and forms have to be filled out, It's part of life. Suggestion: how about you slow down, hone and practice your admin skills here on the board? Freak,I hope I haven't offended you, I'm just trying to give you a friendly suggestion as a brother on this board, before somebody with a lot more weight on their shoulders/collar lets you know about it. All in all, study hard, listen to those who've been there, and I'm sure you'll make a great firefighter and soldier!
  13. can't wait to see more pics. Plans -ideas ?
  14. Check yer grounds.......
  15. Ya, but don't you just love it!
  16. 31K mi.- The gas and brake pedals should have very little wear, so should floorboards, carpet, mats, seats etc. I agree about a long hard thought if it is a rust bucket.
  17. I feel for ya! I work outside also. Except for there being snow on the ground, these were taken last month. Hoping to work on the Chief tomorrow, It's almost ready for the road. Can you see my 220 hook up for my welder
  18. I found CC. Nearly everyday I find myself here at least once. I've learned a lot, shared some of what I've learned. My MJs definitely have become an addiction. My day is not complete until I identify at least one "Jeep" thing that I've done, sometimes I might be in the hardware store, I'll see something, think "what if I......" then buy something for the Jeep/s.Could be all day on the truck, then mission accomplished. Best of all is the love and the obsession that I've found in the building, preserving and maintaining these unique old trucks. But also can't forget about all the camaraderie and support that everybody has given. Thanks to all, best wishes for the coming new year.
  19. I made sure I had voltage and ground continuity, for turn and park lights at the front sockets (I had no turn or park lights). I took a jumper wire to test a 1157 bulb to make sure it was good on both filaments. when I put the "good"light in the socket and didn't get lights, I replaced both sockets out of my donor XJ, all was well. If you have voltage at the sockets, it can't be anything other than a ground/socket issue.
  20. Did you check for voltage at the front sockets? then work back to the switch from there.
  21. at least they aren't out using drugs.......
  22. Quote from automan 2164: "One of the medics in the town over used to carry a few bags of IV fluids... Get trashed, run a line to sober himself up, and drive home... I don't know whether thats really stupid or somewhat smart... " :dunno: Medics, I met one once, he used to catheterize himself to pass a whiz quiz........ Me, no hangover, last drink was 2 1/2 yrs ago. Last night when I went to bed, about 11:15 I remember thanking the creator for another year of life and another year of sobriety.
  23. I asked tranny, because of MC issues that some manuals have. If you was able to recreate part of the issue ie: flashed when you were poking around the fuse box area, I'd check the fuse slot itself or maybe the lightswitch.
  24. :hijack: freakjeep, do you speak/use the french language?
