Someone should see if she can be contacted and asked about the truck and her experiences with it.
-
I always wonder how it would go if I sold mine. Not that I'm going to. I imagine it going badly. That someone who doesn't appreciate the trucks like we do getting it and either neglecting it or beating the crap out of it and chopping it up. I hate to think about it. You never can tell if a buyer is telling you their true intentions or not either. It's all a gamble.

A third for cedar point. They have more coasters there than any other park in the world. And whenever they build a new one its a record breaker. They had the first 200 footer and first 300 footer coasters ever made among other records. Its an all day thing though. Not sure if you have that much time.

86 Comanche 2.8l Engine Swap
dasbulliwagen replied to Kano808's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For an auto trans you could also stick with the auto used behind a 2.8 the A904. Its a lighter duty version of the Chrysler TF727 and was used behind the slant 6 and small V8's and requires no computer. Its a good trans and is easily upgradeable with a shift kit. The 86 XJ waggy parts truck I have has the 2.8 A904 NP228 combo in it. I might use some combo of this in my 86 MJ if I ever get to build it. -
You might try researching this at www.4bangerjp.com if anyone will have this info it will be them.

The 2.5 is a great motor as long as you don't expect too much out of it. Its closely related to the 4.0 and you can get high miles out of them as well. Let us know if you can get the price down. Good luck.

I took the auto body degree proram at Nashville Auto Diesel College back in 91-92. I think it is called something else now. And 8 years ago I graduated with a degree in automotive systems from the local community college. The community college program I took was as good or better than any of the bigger schools and cosy a ton less. Just do your research on the programs available in your area. As far as diesel or bike? Go for diesel. You'll never be without work or options for work. There aren't that many bike shops out there which means options are limited.

I paid $250 for mine and drove it home. Rust free southern truck. It ran like crap but it ran. Didn't take much to make it a daily driver. Mines also an 87 4 cly.

Can you park a running push mower over top of their hole? But seven dust sounds good too.

Stiffer Valve Springs?
dasbulliwagen replied to benjy_26's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've read before on www.4bangerjp.com that people who do mods to the 2.5 internally run into valve float at higher rpms. If you're going for a stock rebuild though I would just get new stock springs. -
What's your location too. Might make a difference in price as well. Rust will also make a difference. But as it is $3000 sounds VERY high for a non driver. Even for a drivable truck it sounds high. It would have to be a really nice truck for that price.

Old Bessie - Swedish Workhorse Gets New Life
dasbulliwagen replied to lerpoel's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
If you will PM your VIN to me I might be able to see where it was originally exported to through Chrysler records. That might shed a little light on your trucks history. -
I have some updating to do. Its been too long. I need to get some pics up of it with the JK take off wheels and tires. Been dealing with some overheating lately as well. So many things I want to do just never have the time. Pics to come soon!

I have a Hobart Handler 140. Its a 110 welder at a decent price. I bought mine at Tractor Supply. Then I bought a gas bottle for it. Even though its a smaller unit and a decent price, once you buy the welder, the gas bottle, extra wire and tips and a helmet you'll have a thousand dollars in it and still not be able to weld really thick stuff. But it will do 99 percent of what I need. So I'm good with it. Just do your research and enjoy!

Jesse James built a radial engined motorcycle several years back. Those things are awesome!
-
Just saw a new report on it. Top speed is drag limited to 199 MPH! I doubt my dealer will ever see one, but I could be wrong, there are a few big spenders in town that would buy one. If we get one, Ill let you know and post pics!

Full Size Temporary Spare Tire
dasbulliwagen replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Unused original spares are still available. We had a bunch come through during cash for clunkers. I used a combination of them and the original steels from my Mj to get a set of the lace wheels of an XJ Country. i kept the best steelie as a full size spare. A trip through your local junkyard should get you what you want for originality. Just keep an eye out for dry rot. You might have better luck getting one without rot from an XJ as they stayed inside, covered up. Good luck and let us know if you find what youre looking for. -
Suing for what? Just curious.

Old Question New Tricks?
dasbulliwagen replied to lil_loco's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm on 32's with 4:10 and AX5 and 5th is almost unusable. I can't imagine it with 3:55. See how you like it and then save up to regear. -
2Wd Bench Seat Work For 4Wd?
dasbulliwagen replied to quaddub_comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think your seat will work, but you just won't be able to adjust it forward. Thats mostly what the notch is for. Mine has the notch, and with the seat all the way back, it is about flat across from one side to the other across the $#!&er mini console. If youre shorter and need the seat forward a bit, it might not work. -
The 4.0 throttle body and injectors only work on 91 and newer models. There's not as much possible with the TBI models. Though I wonder if there would be any issues with the TBI adapting to changes. It might do just fine. I have seen on 4banger too a writeup about installing a larger injector. Anything is possible with enough time and money.

Not sure exactly, but definitely in the 2000's era.

www.4bangerjp.com There isnt much you can do to a 2.5 to get much more out of it, especially in the low end. But if there is anything, youll find it on the site I posted above.

Foot Pedal Emergency Brake Relocation
dasbulliwagen replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The toyota one is interesting, though Ive never had one apart to know how it mounts or anything. might be something to look into though it might also be more work than its worth. For those who don't know the toyota one, it mounts in the dash and is pulled straight out and twisted to unlock and reset. There are a few compaies making electric e-brakes now too. Might be able to mount one of those under the bench on the floor. I saw that show Vegas Rat Rods built a car around one for the owner of a company that builds those. Let us know what you end up doing. -
I just saw our local fireworks. All the while there was an ice cream in the background playing Christmas music. True story.
