Its just a joke, take it easy. Keep things light. Anybody that knows me , knows that you can't take much of what I say seriously. I have no ill intentions towards anybody. And besides it looks like the Comanche club has really come through for Brenda. I beleive I speak for us all in that we wish her the best of luck!

Can Grand Cher. trans work with 2.5?
dasbulliwagen replied to AMX02450's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The best trans to adapt would be the NV3550 with a dakota bellhousing. That would give you a better overdrive, though I doubt the 2.5 would handle it very well. Do some searches and you should be able to come up with something. -
Am I the only one who really wants one of these:
dasbulliwagen replied to Sir Sam's topic in The Pub
I think Id rather have the yellow M715 sitting behind it! The M715 is my dream truck!!!!   -
Drove my 2.5 on the highway today... forgot how decent it really did at speed. Its been probably a year or so since ive taken it on the highway, though the wife has taken it several times. I think the cold air tube helped a little at that speed. I did find a wheel vibration at 55 mph, so will have to re balance the wheels...still need to recharge the AC too.

GM hasnt owned GMAC for many years. I think Cerberus, who took over Chryco owns them if I remeber correctly, Thats probably why GMAC is taking over financing.

Weather or not the unions are going anywhere is still up in the air. Everything Ive read today says the union will still be there with the deal they made the other day... making concessions. Would Chrysler be better off without unions...maybe, I don't know. I do knows unions have made a huge difference in working standards all across the board in this country. Are unions still necessary in todays enviroment, I don't know, but without them there would be even more of the whole thing about I can get this immigrant to do your job for half of what I'm paying you stuff. If you think that stuff is bad now... see what happens if theres no unions at all.

I didnt talk to anybody about it, because nobody cares but me. I guess I just don't hang out with the right people.

not to hijack the thread, but the longterm effect of smoking weed have not been fully proven. Smoking weed is the same as smoking a non filtered cigarette, and the people who do it longterm will see the effects. Enough studies havent been done on it because its illegal, and people who do it don't want to be studied for fear that they might be caught. Ive never done any of that stuff either, but Ive hung out with enough poeple who have to know that chiiit makes you stooopidd, and not just when youre doing it. And to publicize that a Mexican druglord is thanking the US govt for keeping it illegal goes right along with the liberal mindset that everything we americans do we should be ashamed of because we have it soo much better than many other parts of the world.... its all just bullchit!

Smithe1811's Project Mjolnir
dasbulliwagen replied to smithe1811's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
What did the removed stickers on the bedside say??? Road service something??? Do you know the trucks past history? Just curious. I like to hear backstories! -
O2 Sensor! My 87 2.5 was like that too. I did all the other stuff they said to no avail. Put an O2 sensor in, and within 60 seconds of statup it started running great and havent had a problem since. Though I would still do the fuel filter also. Changing the cat should be a last resort due to their price, but is also possible.

Ive been there too, except with air cooled VW's. Cars at my grandmothers house, my parents garage, and anywhere else I could put them. Ive lost more money on that stuff than any of it was worth. I still have 1 car, which I am working on selling, and a small pile of parts that Ive been holding onto to build a rail dune buggy. But even at this point and at my age, I still don't have a place to begin to build one. Ive not done anything to the bug in a few years and have been missing being able to tinker on something... then the MJ came along, and another MJ and now I'm here, contemplating rear axles, spare parts vehicles, lift kits....... :help: I still want a dune buggy, and a Porsche 550 Spyder replica, and a built MJ and a ....... It just goes on forever, and with as deep into it as you are I can see how it would be overwhealming. Hang in there, we're all behind you!

Rear Main Seal
dasbulliwagen replied to Comanche County's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What does the rear main seal have to do with your oil pressure? The seal just keeps oil in the engine, oil pressure would have more to do with bearing wear, pump wear etc. Maybe its just time for a rebuild! Can anyone say STROKER??? -
86' 2.5 to 87' 4.0 swap?
dasbulliwagen replied to Grayguy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The 86 has an AX5, it will not work with your 4.0. Sorry. -
Brake Rotors
dasbulliwagen replied to Worlds Fastest Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
2wd rotors have the seperate bearings and races that go inside the rotor and then are attached to the spindle all together. The 4wd rotors just slip on over the hub unit which is bolted to the knuckle, and the wheel hold the rotor in place when it is bolted on. I am assuming the 88 on 2wd rotors are the same as the 4wd style just explained. As to which is better at high speed? Who knows? Good luck! -
best spark plugs for a 4.0 (02 grand cherokee)?
dasbulliwagen replied to brdhntr's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Being a dealer tech, I have NEVER seen a problem with factory plugs. I have seen problems with other brands, but I'm not sure that it has ever been with a 4.0. I myself love the Bosch Platinums, but I'm sure other people will have better opinions as to what works best, as I don't own a 4.0. As far as the cruise, check the vacuum line going to the cruise module under the hood. The WJ is known for the vac lines going bad, at least the rubber parts. Another thing to check if that is ok is the buttons on the steering wheel. If they have a problem they could cause the problem youre describing. If you have access to a good scan tool, you can hook it up and go into sensors, or inputs/outputs, and try to work the cruise buttons and see if the values change or not. If they don't then you would have an issue with the buttons or the harness, usually the buttons. Good luck! -
Mysterious Death Wobble
dasbulliwagen replied to thedave360's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm not saying that the stabilizer would cause it, or be the be all fix all, just that its importance should not be overlooked. And as I said before, and other posters, Wheel balance should be first on the list. :nanner: -
Took the 87 into work this morning to see if I could figure out the wiring for the AC. Thanks to the downloadable 1988 service manual PDF from one of our other esteemed members, I was able to find a better wiring harness diagram and found that I just needed to add a relay to it and have the unused pins from the dealer installed AC connector hooked to the relay, etc. etc. etc.... and viola! it works!!! Still need to add refrigerant oil to the system though, so no real tryout till next week....someone locked up the AC machine at work, and it has the oil injector I need to put the oil in. Next project... Install the 4:10 rear axle, then the front axle then the trans and transfer case. Maybe next weekend I can start on that! :brows: :brows: :brows:

Mysterious Death Wobble
dasbulliwagen replied to thedave360's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I disagree about the importance of the stabilizer BLHTAZ. It does more than you think, and you are right about the stock ones on wranglers, they are junk from the factory. Ive see too many wranglers with less than 20000 on them come into the dealer with DW. A good heavy duty stabilizer always helps, but like I said before, you need to check everything else first. -
Mysterious Death Wobble
dasbulliwagen replied to thedave360's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Have your tires road force balanced, and get a good heavy duty steering stabilizer. Those two items will help tremendously. But also do like the other guys said and check all other components and do repairs if you find anything wrong. But wheel balance and stabilizer will help. -
Vacuumed the AC system I just put in, Charged it only to find the compressor not getting power for the clutch. I now need to go throught the wiring for the ac and find where my problem lies. After I get all that working I can then start on my 4x4 conversion!
