Boss's Mj... the AC hasnt work in years, so I converted it to R134a, it cooled for a while, but got to the point the compressor wouldnt kick on, wasnt getting power. So I figured out which relay was for the compressor to make sure it was getting power... was, and replaced the relay... works great now.... but while driving and accelerating, it looses vacuum, and the vent settings change... so I will next install a check valve, and make sure the vac canister is OK.

You don't need a Comanche, you need a full size van with no windows there Chester! :rotfl2:

THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!! I think weve found our new spokesperson. AND I hope this got sent directly to the upper management of Chrysler. As we've all said.... they either need to build it, or quit screwing with our emotions!

I saw that truck on www.nc4x4.com and told him he should put a thread on here. He said he did, but he deleted it to save bandwidth....... don't make much sense to me, but oh well. Nice truck though, and only about 1 1/2 hours from me.

If you have a 2.5 4 cyl, or a 2.8 V6, your best bet would be a 4.0 swap from a donor Cherokee, that includes everything from the engine, trans, dash and engine wiring harness.... everything. Or if you have a 2.8, you could swap in a 3.4 V6 from a Camaro, If you need more power than a 4.0, well.... It aint cheap, and its extremely involved, including advanced fabrication, and or cubic dollars. Let us know what youre trying to do and what ya got and we can go from there!

Sears installed ball joint!

The only techs that get jobs at chain stores are the ones who can't get hired by dealers or good independants. I wouldnt trust anything beyond a tire change at a chain store. Document the problem, make them aware of it, and have it fixed somewhere else. If they say they won't pay, tell the manager that your lawyer will be contacting him! -
88 CAMARO??? You have my condolences.

My 87 when it reads empty is actually still about a quarter tank full. I kinda like it like that because it will make it tought to actually run out of gas. Ive run it for quite a while past E, just to see what will happen, and have yet to put more that 14.5 gallons or so to fill it up at that point. Just cause you read it at empty doesnt mean your tank is that much full of crap... just means that the float is not reading like it should.

Pete, Maybe its time you update and remind us of the parking wars story. Has anything changed that brought you to this decision?

More power? :brows: :fool: I know, I know, youre doing all you can with the 2.5 and have a possible 2.8 in the works. Without going to a Cherokee 2 door type wheelbase or a full tube rear put where you want it, I don't think theres much else you can do. Not sure what your fab skills are, but a full tube rear half is probably the only way youll get the wheelbase you want. Good luck, and we'll be keeping an eye out for updates! -

2WD right? Can you alter the steering stops to give you more turn in? Maybe combined with another saginaw steering box that give another 1/2 or 1 turn total? Just an idea. -

If all youre looking for is to get better clearance at the rearend after going over jumps, the bob would be the way to go, that way you don't touch the spring mounts, driveshaft or anything else expensive. -

Maybe its just me, but I think it would look better if it was centered. Off to one side like that just looks funny.... but its still cool, and good work! -
Nice bike. Ive never had a problem with Hondas, but the sound that a Harley makes is just too perfect for me to ignore. When I was ready to buy a bike 10 years ago, I really wanted a Harley, but couldnt afford one... even a used one. That and I kinda wanted a sportbike, but wanted one that was a sportbike that sounded like a Harley. I knew nothing of Buell at the time, till I started looking at sale ads, and started learning more about them. At some point I saw a silver S-1 Lightning.... and it was MY perfect bike! But I had no idea that I would actually find one. I was looking at M-2's, and S-3's and X-1's, but hadnt really commited to anything yet. So I went out helmet shopping in prep for an upcoming purchase... and there in the used section of the showroom was a Silver 1997 Buell Lightning S-1! I couldnt beleive it. I picked out a helmet, and put it on lay away till I could get up enough cash, and left the dealer. I told my buddies about the bike, and just kept talking about it over and over. till one buddy of mine told me to "JUST BUY IT!" So I did! Ive had it 10 years now, and won't sell it unless I have another bike lined up. Just saying.... buy something that you will love even if you can do nothing but sit and look at it.... because in the northern climes thats what youll do for about 6 mos of the year. Comfort and utility are also high up on the list too, and as my age also gets up there I'm realizing this and hoping I can buy something more comfortable, as my Buell is only good for about a 1/2 hour before I have a numb crotch. I too have looked at the new Honda choppers, but, at least in my mind, I have to have that sound.... and the Hondas just don't stack up... even with aftermarket pipes, they just don't sound right. Good luck with your new ride!

:wavey: And here's the picture to prove it :D You can tell FiremanSteve's MJ........It's the clean one ;) Oh......and nice MJ'ing with you for the afternoon  I still cringe and get a chill up my spine every time I see an MJ THAT rusty! Its just sooo sad to see. But good too to see that it is still serving it purpose, and still have the charchter that these trucks have.

Theres a downloadable 88 FSM on here somewhere. I saved it to my comp and reference it all the time. But I'm not sure where you would find the link to it. From what Ive found, most of the wiring is the same from 87 up to 90, thats XJ and MJ. They are alike enough that Ive been able to figure out what I need when I need it. Maybe someone else will remember where to find it.
