  1. I would hope he has it bled by now because he asked back at the beginning of last september. Lol
  2. They probably have the straps and bolts on the Help rack at the auto parts store and the parts guy should be able to get you the right parts. Pretty common item.
  3. Get yourself a Dana 44 and it'll be just right.
  4. 30,000 miles......LOL. There are other things you can do to gain performance that are way more worthwhile. Yeah, they'll burn em up in 30k but they throw enough spark that they'll still be running at 80k.
  5. The factory coils already have enough power to wear out your spark plugs in 50,000 miles. And they'll do it for 200k plus.
  6. 2wd MJ's and XJ's didn't swap out to a unit bearing with a seperate rotor until about January 20th 1992. Before that they used the 1984 -1989 style brakes with one piece hub and rotor.
  7. If you have the renix computer you should have an 87-90 flexplate. Surprised it runs at all but I've never compared the two to see how close they are.
  8. 5 years 100k with Mobil 1 10w-30 HM.
  9. I'm betting that broken snap ring has something to do with it. Probably from the front of the pump or back of the converter.
  10. Pull your manifold off and clean the mating surfaces well and reassemble with a new gasket.
  11. My spectra is 5 years and 50,000 miles old with no issues. Still looks ok too.
  12. I bought a pair of Timken 99.5-06 hubs last summer. I had to go to two seperate autozones to get them. They were both manufactured in the Czech Republic. About 20,000 miles on them so far with no trouble. As my 92 MJ and 98 XJ's hubs need replacing I'll be switching to the 99.5-06 style hubs. I figure they will be last of the hubs and brakes to be manufactured. The Flatr8ers in the area have been using the SKF's with no complaints.
  13. I did exactly that. I had two nice XJ's and the 87 was mediocre. I took the brand new tires off and the Dana 44 and stuck some maypops and a D35 under it and sold it for $200 more than I paid. Then sold the 44 for $300. Needed the money more than I needed the axle.
  14. Being an 88 it probably doesn't have a 44. Not saying they didn't come with them but in all the xj's I've seen over the years I've only seen them in 87's. Even then there were very few.
  15. The 95-01 carpets will have a hump molded in where the front of the seat bracket mounts to. That may prove awkward. 84-94 won't have that.
  16. Are you sure the rear is 4.10's? AW4's usually came with 4.56's. If you or a previous owner replaced the rear and put a 4.10 and the front is still 4.56 that could be the source of your trouble. If you're front is broken it'll be hard to source a 4.56 front axle, it will need to be rebuilt. Turn your front pinion by hand and see if you feel anything amiss. Then turn your drivers side wheel to see if there is a bad wheel bearing.
  17. No matter how hard that jeep was hit there would of been a lot of salvagable parts to keep others on the road. Hope it doesn't get crushed.
  18. Don't buy the cheapest walker muffler, get the next one up, it's noticably quieter.
  19. There were 4.56's too in 4 cylinder Rodeos. Drum brakes though.
  20. Instead of fuel use the gas tank for water. Wash it out real good with Dawn. Put extra fuel in Jerry cans on the trailer tongue.
  21. TJ axles will work just need to remove all the four link mounting. As far as XJ's with 44 rears, 1987 is the only year where they were used mostly. They may have been used in later years but I and a bunch of other people that mess with them I know have never seen one. Most commonly found in 1987 XJ wagoneers with the towing package. If you see a woodgrained cherokee with a trailer hitch, stop and look under the back of it. If it's an 87 there's a good chance it'll have a 44.
  22. Smart move. I loved how my daughters 03 drove but the minor issues it kept having were tiresome.
  23. The heavier crank will let it idle lower and keep running when crawling. Good in a heavy Wrangler with D60's and large tires.
  24. The upper mounts on your axle are in board of your lowers. That is why they are angled towards the inside. That type of arm is called radius arms. Those arms mount on the lower mount on the axle and the smaller arm mounts between the long arm and the upper mount.
  25. Four link, three link or radius arms? Clayton offroad has all three so go on their website and let us know what type you are refering to.
