  1. comparably equipped 4wd MJs are about an inch taller than 2wd ones. but that's given identical engines and similar conditions of the old coils. pucks would give a more reliable amount of lift (since it'll be 1" or 1.5" taller than what you have right now).
  2. It's supposedly pretty new. the problem with the version of phpbb we have now is the inherent glitches due to a lack of continuous updating due to my being an idiot when it comes to updating procedure. we got so far behind that when I finally asked our hosts to do the update for us, there wasn't a patch that brought our old version up to date. So the closest one was used. Didn't turn out all that well. And subsequent updates have only made things worse and we had to backtrack to the frankenstein you see now. If we get the most up-to-date version, it'll be just like a conversion to another software; i.e. only threads and names would transfer (without a ton of work). The big selling point for the fusion is that the people at our host company are very familiar with it. right now, no one I know is uber familiar with phpbb. Well, probably not no one, but I pretty much have to hand the keys over to whomever would be doing the work, and I tend to hesitate doing that. If I could find someone local to me that could simply show me how to do all of it, that would be ideal. but I haven't found that person yet. :dunno:
  3. he's not a "sponsor" per se (since that might imply some sort of monetary exchange), but he's most definitely a friend of the club and has worked with us to develop some of his products.
  4. ouch. and then paying for tech support on top of that?
  5. I've seen at least one guy, maybe 2 that swear their MJ originally came with the 242. Haven't yet seen any documentation for it though. as I said earlier, it's not impossible that the 242 could have been custom ordered, I just haven't seen any proof yet. :dunno: They are easy enough to convert though. I've got one myself. :D
  6. 86 offered a select trac for sure. No other year's dealership brochure makes any mention of a select trac offer. But since Jeep was desperate to sell Jeeps and the t-cases are practically interchangeable, I'd bet you could get them special ordered.

    HI

    :waving:
  8. x2 could be one of the injectors is stuck open or leaking.
  9. did you need to shim the LCAs at all to bring the caster to spec and center the tire in the wheel well?
  10. pictures posting is easy once you get the hang of it. :D keep trying. in the meantime, if you email them to me, I'll host them for you. comancheclub@hotmail.com
  11. there's very little rhyme or reason behind the order of MJotMs. :D we're just not that organized. gotta be my favorite MJ ever. I bet it's cleaner than the ones Chrysler still has.
  12. dunno what the cost is. does vBulletin have a chat feature?
  13. if you want a good penatrant use aero kroil, everyone calls it kroil. its in a orange can and claims to creep down to one millionth of an inch if used properly (apply a few times a day, a few days before, but just waiting 30 mins does a decent job) its what we use on all the industrial jobs i work at. beats the crap outta the pb blaster junk and wd40 he was joking. meaning that there's so little rust that even wd40 would work.
  14. it asks me to sign in to a google account (which i don't have)
  15. been a while since this thread was updated so you might need to call him up and see what's going on.
  16. sorta. not sure how much storage space and bandwidth that'll use though. :dunno: my guess is way more than I'm currently paying for, but I'll have to ask about it.
  17. if you're just looking to fix the rusted out wheel well they would work. someone needs to bug him more for a smaller patch panel that covers just the typical wheel well rust. :fs2:
  18. did I miss something? is the guy in the first link not selling them anymore?
  19. the MJ wheelwell opening is a bit wider than an XJ wheel well.
  20. Wash the underbody prior to garage storage. and especially get up in the bedside to wash that ledge that's right behind the rear fenders.
  21. Pete, I think you need to have your eyes checked. Correy, I think you need to have your sarcasm radar checked.
  22. if you're talking about the steel bushings in the lca, I just measured the stock ones and trimmed off a bit on each side. essentially you'll be cutting them flush with the rubber bushing. but if you want more accuracy than that, wait til someone chimes in or until you take out the old ones.
  23. oh the humanity!!! looks like we lost another one to the red cancer. :(
  24. I think of it more as missing a gear. or 2. :( I hated 3.07s with just 30" tires.
  25. pretty much any of the non-free forum softwares will be better than the free phpbb, but the big benefit for me is that our hosts are much more familiar with fusionbb. (and technically they do the grunt work of site maintenance since I'm practically a computer illiterate when it comes to code. :typing: nothing I do seems to work right.) fusion has a phpbb import feature so I'm told the threads and names should transfer over. settings and avatars maybe not so much. also they have some more modern (and hopefully more effective) capcha to keep spammers at bay.
