  1. on my overhead shelf
  2. as the others have said, ground clearance under the axles is one thing, but as soon as you leave perfectly flat ground, approach/departure and breakover angles are important too.
  3. what are you doing for gears? how will you be using the truck?
  4. life played some pretty good jokes on me yesterday. the best was when I woke up and my computer had shut itself off and wouldn't fire back up. but later that day it was all back to its normal slow self. :dunno: or maybe the best was when I pulled the brakes off the van and pieces fell out. I had an inkling that the rears weren't doing much. worse than I thought though. :fs1:
  5. it's so little as to be unmeasurable. (meaning that you would never be able to make up the cost of the posilok in theoretical gas saved) don't sweat it. the CAD was a mistake that Jeep eventually rectified.
  6. save your money. the fix is free. :D viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18415
  7. it was an emergency thing done early in my moab trip, but the catch can does in fact work. :D I suggest the valve cover fix first.
  8. ford 44 front, 9" rear with the HI-9 center section and disks. CTMs, 4.88s, and selectable lockers (posi/locked front, open/locked rear)
  9. anyone have an idea if the new firefox uses more or less memory to run? it's a real concern with my old computer. :(
  10. are you positive? I'd really like to get this straight once and for all. :(
  11. they should raise your truck up about 2" higher than now.
  12. usually myself. but in this case the original poster.
  13. what gears do you have? what size tires?
  14. you could keep the metal intact, mount the flare up a bit higher, and then bumpstop it. be aware that slicing-n-dicing of the metal will bring on the red cancer in a hurry. :(
  15. if you don't want to pop the cover, you can jack up one rear tire, put the truck in neutral, then rotate the tire around exactly twice while counting the number of times the driveshaft spins.
  16. ha ha. :D I'm still up for it. power steering is for wusses. :rotf: and I do have a couple of straight/rustfree bumpers if I can get them off the trucks.
  17. just when I think I've seen it all in the Jeep world...
  18. let's hold off a bit til we can figure out what to do about the forums software.
  19. That took all of 10 minutes to get used to. Here it is, second day, and I'm STILL opening entire new windows!....Just annoying is all. :wall: I scroll-ball click to open links in a new tab. does that still work in 4.0?
  20. sorta. Firefox lets you go forward or back a page and the text will still be there. Explorer does not. Used to be a huge deal on the Yahoo group since posts would get eaten up instantaneously and you couldn't simply go back and resend.
  21. smart move. I used to do that all the time before I got firefox.
  22. pre-95 ABS axles should have the beefier U-joints. all Cherokee axles after 95 will have the beefier U-joints. these are rules of thumb though. you gotta check for sure before buying.
  23. you're the first I've heard of. my guess is that it's on your end, but we've got plenty of glitches in the software. :dunno:
  24. or if you don't know that, what is the spline count of the input shaft on the t-case?
