what engine/trans? also, there is a wire harness connector located just behind the rear drivers side tire. corrosion inside there can cause problems with rear lights.

I've got filezilla on my new computer now. seems as good a time as any to take another stab at eliminating that webring crap.

we could debate the D44a all day, but the fact remains that they have a high failure rate under Jeeps. Rob finally got rid of his axle problems under his ZJ by swapping in a Dana 35. :ack: scary, but true.

my 88 was a prime candidate for replacing the rockers with steel but instead I'm running just legs to (and through) the frame and have not been able to break it yet. :)

I'm guessing a lack of solid metal, plus the ability of Michigan winters to quickly make solid metal into not-solid metal.

our search feature leaves much to be desired. :ack: two notes on the solid rockers. it can be a real challenge welding the thick steel to the fragile sheetmetal. and one of my michigan friends did that to his cherokee and it took only a year before the rocker had broken itself half-free of the body.

personally, I'd just keep topping it off and save that money towards a later upgrade.

I'd bet a sizable amount of money there's a video or 2 on youtube. :D I've found other random auto repairs on there.

it pains me to see someone spend so much on a lousy d-35. :( I've purchased whole 8.8s and 8.25s for that much.

I got a little overzealous and routed both axles and my t-case to a common breather filter in the engine bay. :D

if I remember right, it's under the dash by the drivers right leg. it's a small clearish plastic box

no bushing, it's a tie rod end. if you're lucky it's just loose, but more likely is that it's worn out and the track bar needs to be replaced. keep en eye out for ovaling of the hole in the bracket that the tie rod end goes into. :thumbsup:

are you talking about fabbing up long arms? or just longer short arms? also, at least up here in michigan, hand made suspension components aren't street legal. not sure if you intend to drive on the street, but if an arm were to fail and cause an accident, you would be liable for all injuries.

I miss having a cat around the house.

early-than-92 XJs with the awd t-case came with a non-CAD axle. :thumbsup:
