  1. MT leafs were. but the frames were the same.
  2. are you swapping in just the block? or the entire 99 jeep into your truck? check out the Dakota gas tank swap thread. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32591 also:
  3. it's clean, functional, looks to have a real hitch, and the frame mounts tie all the way back to a big bolt further up the frame. I like it. :D wish it was just a tad wider though.
  4. my 90's throttle cable started pulling apart and this little sleeve of plastic on it was catching. sorry i can't be more specific, but I am now 750 miles from that cable and can't snap a photo 'til I get back home next week.
  5. it's not just a bit stronger, it's a LOT stronger. like designed-to-handle-2200-pounds-of-load-in-the-bed stronger. but... maybe it'll help out those guys with rusty frames. I know my 90 could stand some extra support in the frame area. but I intend to accomplish that with a good set of rocker guards.

    rock rails

doesn't have a frame or suspension either. besides, who needs rock rails with 20+ inches of lift.
  7. why would an MJ need stiffeners? our frames are fully boxed and not at all comparable to XJs.

    rock rails

what keeps the one on the bed from just folding in? it's not like there's any support for the sheetmetal there. :hmm: and if I had solid rockers, you couldn't pay me to punch holes in them. no thanks. I prefer mine. :D
  9. I fill the foot well with stuff and make a bed for highway travel, but for offroading she wears a harness that attaches to the seatbelt and keeps her butt planted firmly in the seat.
  10. quick-n-dirty way to check: -jack up one of the rear tires -put trans in neutral -rotate tire around exactly twice while counting the number of times the driveshaft rotates -if the driveshaft rotates 3 and a half times, it'll be 3.55... if it's just over 4 times: 4.10... etc. if the rear axle has a posi, you'll need to jack up both rear tires and then rotate only once around.
  11. then I would definitely keep the 4.10 axles under the MJ. try it. you just might be happy and it'll get the truck up and running that much faster. have you checked that they are indeed 4.10s?
  12. if mpgs are important to you, don't lift it 6". and you might even see a bump up in city mpgs with the 4.10s and stock tires. the deeper gears will help you get going off the line. and if you go with 31s, you'll definitely want those 4.10s. are both vehicles 4x4s?
  13. the heavier hoodie is full zip.
  14. what size tires?
  15. need to double check that. I'd much rather have 4.10s than 3.55s.
  16. ~6". and you'd still need to move the perches since the XJ perches are set outboard of the MJ perches. do you know what gears you have in the comanche?
  17. those big tires will likely kill any hope of decent mileage. :(
  18. certainly plenty of drool worthy machines in there. still probably out of my price range.
  19. they'd better. the HD hoodie should be identical to the ones we did last time.
  20. :waving: welcome to the club!
  21. cold air is key. the air inside your engine bay is anything but cold.
  22. I blew up a dana 35 running 30 inch tires on the pavement. others have offroaded a dana 35 with 33"+ and been ok for a while. individual results may vary. stock gears are going to suck though. more so if you have a stickshift.
  23. CPS or its wire harness.
  24. there should be an option in your user control panel for ignoring sigs.
