yup. the axles I'll be working with are from a rubicon JK so I swiped a pic from the page I was on. for a JK at least, the tierod bar and ends are $300. Apparently the bar is practically impossible to bend. It always snaps right back to straight. I want one on every build I do. :D

anyone running one? I'm thinking about recommending it for my uncle's XJ build (since it's not easy to flip the tie rod on a JK axle and it hangs down pretty low).

same reason we all do... cause they are cool! got my NOS bedside hanging on the wall next to my MJ racing poster. :D no NOS taillight in it though. just a nice looking one.

My Dakota R/T has the factory 3.92 gears and little 28" tires and I can max out the speed limiter. 4.10s are not deep enough to restrict anything. :thumbsup:

assuming nothing is actually malfunctioning in your truck, a swap to the late model booster will give you the best improvement. :thumbsup:

it is indeed a futurama clip. all Bender's giant statue would say was "remember me" (and breath fire) over and over. it has nothing to do with what's going on here other than it runs through my head anytime I see the words "remember me". :D

made all mine ('cept for the rollbar). you'd be amazed what you can build with a $10 angle grinder and a $20 drill. :D found a couple local fab guys to do the welding.

what DID you do with them?

I'd put armor ahead of 35" tires. I didn't and ended up smashing both rockers on a seemingly simple trail ride in the hills. :( 2" spacers up front, longer shackles in the rear, some used but decent 31" mud tires on stock rims for trail use, and protect those rockers and get some strong yank points front and rear. easily within your budget and it'll get ya out there to see what your truck can do. then upgrade as needed later. :thumbsup:

anyone have some experience with 'em? my buddy has a set on his Superduty but he really hasn't done anything but pavement since getting them.

well after talking with my uncle, I've modified the plan a bit. his needs include shooting from atop the jeep (not just storage up there), 2 spares, tires that are cut resistant and will handle 50+ mph across the plains of wyoming (rather than deep mud), and a bumper combo that will survive an impact with an antelope. so this means the exocage is a go. probably with a ladder built into the design of the rear pass side (gas tank is on the drivers). the roof rack will hold a spare tire to sit on and a steel mesh across it for walking. since he drives like it was the dakar rally, the axles will definitely be getting trusses. for tires I was thinking of the Cooper S/T Maxx. My buddy has them under his Superduty and they seem as tough as a big chuck of rubber could be. E-rated with triple sidewalls and the new cut resistant rubber for the tread. plus they come in a 32x10.5 which should work better than the 34x10.5s for stuffing while at speed.

is the rock shifter shift that much faster? or is it just that much simpler?

who's got some, which ones, how much $$, and how well do they work compared to normal offroad lights?
