  1. ignoring the rpm calculations, does the engine sound fine? idle ok? rev up ok?
  2. Jim is having some health problems, so he may not respond to every pm. if you're serious, message me and I'll pass on his phone number.
  3. Jim, can you save the tailgates and taillights at least? I can't believe the midwest-rustbelt guys haven't bought up your trucks. :(
  4. thanks for all you do man

    high on moly

that certainly is one gigantic pile of rocks :D
  6. not quite the same, but we have a 2.8 KJ and love it :D
  7. you'd be surprised what people have stuffed axles into when the need arose. :D
  8. is the t-case shifter linkage bracket that is on the trans from the YJ or XJ? photos of everything might help. does it turn the same amount in both directions? longer control arms? longer trac bar? longer sway bar links? the crossmember should be the same 2wd vs 4wd. they only change with the addition of the peugeot trans (which you never had)

    Nice!
  10. what rig did your t-case linkage come from? exactly what parts are in your 6" lift so far? yes, the wrangler t-case is clocked up a bit more than XJ/MJ units, though the holes in the trans are the reason, not the t-case itself. 2wd and 4wd steering parts are the same. what is hitting and restricting the turning?
  11. if it was a bad thing, there would be a LOT fewer guys backing their boats into the water. an engine that is cranking over should have no trouble pushing water out the back end. it's just water. buuuuuuut, if you're SO submerged that water is above the headers (essentially submerging the whole exhaust system), then water could hypothetically fill the whole pipe and get into your block. don't do that. on an unrelated note, I now want an exhaust flapper thingie. just because. :D
  12. nice! :D did you leave a club card behind?
  13. congrats man!
  14. you'd better  there's supposedly some decent wheeling around here. although I'd much rather just visit you in colorado.
  15. wow! and I was just thinking to myself that I would buy a minicooper right htis minute if only I could get a Swedish flag on the roof! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  16. as do I. someone come pick me up!
  17. who needs linkage? just shift it into awd and ignore the rest. (assuming you never need 4-low :D )
  18. we're all in agreement that he should do away with the CAD altogether  , but it wouldn't address the problem he's avoiding (a bad bearing).
  19. very nice! still my favorite rims  just need to hit those weights with paint.
  20. I'm a somewhere in the middle when it comes to this topic. I understand that the people need a way to show pride in their country without resorting to carrying a 3x5 on a pole everywhere they go. I don't like using an actual flag for anything but as a flag, but would make peace with a stars and stripes themed headliner. USA floormats? hell no. You can't completely ignore the meaning and intention behind it. for example, burning a US flag as a protest (while technically legal) is in very poor taste and you probably deserve the beat-down that's likely coming your way. But burning a US flag in an official ceremony to retire a worn out piece of cloth is perfectly proper. I was in Boy Scouts for many years and retired dozens of flags. Each one done by the book.
  21. not sure how the AX-15 swap affects this. :dunno: the real problem is that pinion bearing. the temporary solution is getting the CAD to work properly. is it possible the lines are switched?
  22. yup. found plenty of links that said it's a bolt-in swap. didn't see one with pictures though, sorry.
  23. I swear I read somewhere that it was a bolt-in swap. I'll see if I can find a link.
