  1. yeah, I'm familiar with the long drives. the trip to michigan is usually 12 hrs and this last time was 16. :( damn landslide... what about staying the night at that casino? :brows:
  2. even if you take the new ride? if my appointment is on saturday in birmingham, I won't be able to be in both places. still waiting on confirmation from them. if it's on friday, then I'll be in a motel somewhere friday night I guess.
  3. my tow vehicle is bigger than your tow vehicle :rotf: old Jeep iron is just plain awesome
  4. well, I survived the trip to michigan-n-back :ack:, time to take a breather and plan for this outing. April 23rd sound good?

  9. find a way!!!
  10. yeah, even if it came with one from the factory, only a picture will say if it's still there 30 years later.

  13. ain't no harm in tryin' :D
  14. my folks are looking to get a new vehicle to go with their new camper (2600#). Originally it was going to be a 2016 Chrysler minivan to replace the current one (2010 w/100k miles), but we are having great difficulty finding one with the factory tow package. they will be pushing the limit of a van's towing abilities (3500#) and I'm uncomfortable with just slapping a hitch on a regular minivan. while at the dealership today I spotted a durango and after we looked at it, it might just fit their needs (doesn't carry as much stuff or people, but we do have access to a 10' box trailer if they need to pick up a couch or plywood/drywall). I found a 2015 durango with the factory tow package and was looking for opinions before we venture over to check it out. I remember reading that the early years of the 3.6l has some teething issues, but they should have ironed that out by 2015, yes?
  15. you couldn't pay me to take on another rusty MJ. :(
  16. be patient, they are out there. don't settle for one needing a lot of repair if you don't want it. just expand your search! :D
  17. the lever pushes a rod that runs down the steering column to the high beam switch. check it for binding.
  18. looks pretty easy to hook up too. I like that. is it noisy at all?
  19. My folks are looking at buying a small camper trailer. It's only 3k lbs, but it'll be pushing the 3500 limit of the minivan so a WDH is being added to the mix for sure. there are a TON of different designs out there, all claiming to be awesome. I want dad to have the best. Easy to hook up, effective against tail wagging, etc. opinions? and because everyone likes picture, this is the trailer they are looking at, a Lance 1575 it is surprisingly spacious inside. I'm genuinely impressed with all the engineering and thought that went into the details, especially when compared to the other little trailers we looked at.
  20. Has anyone read about an MJ/XJ 44 failure due to the tubes flexing or breaking? :dunno: this could be a moot point if it's not a problem out in the field.
  21. that's one heck of a collection there!
  22. I would just fix the minor issues and carry on. :D
  23. check car-part.com for junkyard searches if you haven't already.
  24. jealous!!!
