just a side note on antennas, fiberglass units have a nasty habit of snapping off from branches, but whips can be quite dangerous when to anyone standing around the truck. whips are sometimes not allowed on trail rides. I've mounted my whip on a spring base and normally it's tied down (seen here is the short lived sheath that parted ways on the freeway one day).

I had a handheld CB once. wouldn't even reliably talk to the truck in front of me unless I held it out the window. :fs1: needs an antenna for sure.

my 88 has a mini CB mounted on my overhead shelf, but eventually my Cobra 25 will be in the CD player's location in the dash because, well, music hasn't been played in there since I lifted the truck so what's the point of keeping it? this lil guy plus a big ol' whip have proven quite effective.

I carry a hi-lift, but the 2 ton floor jack gets used the most. :dunno: it's just way more stable under an axle. obviously the hi-lift is more versatile, but I never leave home without the floor jack and a small jack stand.

Tex06 says he'll be in town this weekend and I figure I should open that up to anyone else in the Atlanta area. :cheers: I have a charity golf outing with my church saturday morning/afternoon but will be available any other time.

well, today has just been one bit of bad news after another. Bo can't go, Don can't go, and now the original reason why I was going to Birmingham in the first place has been postponed. best laid plans, eh? I say we continue the research and just schedule it for a couple months from now. then we'll be much better prepared. :thumbsup: and that's not the end of the bad news either. got a call from the dealership about our Liberty (keeps going into some sort of limp mode) and they were finally able to pull some codes (harder than you think with the CRDs), but now the Jeep won't start at all. fantastic. and I have to wait 'til monday to be able to talk to the guy working on it. even more fantastic. that's twice I've given that Jeep to a dealership (different ones) and they ended up breaking it. last time they somehow fried the computer. when it rains, it pours.

dang. I also see that they have shuttle service to the actual cars which adds a whole 'nuther level of complication with finding each other. maybe it would be better to just meet at that auto museum and maybe find a local eatery.

oooo, I like a good car show. certainly as good a gathering spot as any other parking lot. :D hell, I'm sure some of your guys could certainly enter. :yes:

I appreciate the offer, but many have offered before and none have found it worth their while. :dunno: we are a low-volume deal and it's apparently not at all profitable for a mail-order decal service. I get them pretty cheap since I do all the post-cut work (weeding/masking/etc).

been a looooong time coming, but it's here! this will be replacing the current 12" website address decal. Instead of a font that kinda looks like the Comanche emblem font, this one is taken directly from a scan of an emblem! a HUGE thankyou to fiatslug87 who brought it to life. :cheers: You now have your choice of the letters themselves, or the bubble outline. I only had a single sheet printed up, so it's white-only for now.
