to make power an engine needs fuel, spark and air. a hiccup in any of them can cause your issue. everything from a clogged air filter, fuel filter, cat converter or injectors. or maybe a bad fuel pump or pressure regulator. or even worn spark plugs or corrosion on the power feed for the coil. there are lots of things I would check before jumping to compression.

what are your compression numbers?

I'm unfamiliar with a milling technique that doesn't involve complete disassembly and a milling machine. :dunno:

when I bought my 90 rust was the problem. had to crawl underneath and shift it out of 4wd with a wrench on the t-case lever :(

why not just a fuel cell in the bed? then you can't drag it over rocks.

from the factory 2wds sit an inch lower than 4wds so a 2wd set would better match your current lift. there's no way of knowing what condition used leafs will be in without looking at them. I've found perfectly good sets in the yards many a time. :D metric tons were rated for a tic over 2000 lbs (i.e. a ton).

unless you're looking for a challenging project or truly need the links (i.e. you're chopping off the bed behind the rear axle) then it seems to me a set of 2wd leafs from a junkyard should be all you need. car-part.com might be able to help you find some.

hopefully the product is still well made. I'm open to forgiveness for delays, we've all experienced that. but don't you dare rush my order and screw up the welds because you were in a hurry! :fs1:

been there, done that. won't do it again. I'm not saying it can't be done (because mine worked out pretty good in the end after a lot of "engineering"), but the wedges suck to work around and I'm just sick of dealing with old parts. next time it's going to be super duty axles or brand new JK axles. :D

nice! my family has a fraternal twin to your car, an 83 Z-28 HO. :D even has t-tops! :rock on: take extra good care of the intake ducts, they are not the easiest to come by. :(

at that, ladies and gentlemen, is why a strong tow point front and rear is HIGHLY advisable. :D recoveries are sometimes the best part of wheeling. :yes:
