it's been a while since I've done brakes of that era, but shouldn't there be a little peg that goes into the retaining hole? something needs to keep it from spinning out due to the centripetal force. like this:

yup. a holdover mistake from the 10" vinyl decals that's not on the original 3x5s. I don't remember when I first caught it, but I've been removing the gas door rectangle from all 10"ers since (that plus it's a very delicate detail that doesn't always survive the weeding process). I've passed it on to Dillon that it needs to remain close to the flare.

this is our final version that will be used on the card on the flowers for tomorrow's funeral service. we now have some time to think about any final alterations for the tribute stickers. (aside from putting the ".com" back of course) I've given some thought to adding words (as I did to the flower card), but nothing I've come up with ever feels right for the sticker. I can't imagine anyone seeing it that doesn't already recognize his truck will ever get help from adding in words. I dunno. it feels like the truck image itself will be the best way to honor him. We all know what it means. :)

flowers are ordered. It'll be a chrome vase with a big pile of red and white roses and some silver ribbon in it and they will thrown in some extra card holders for customization by the family using our images. should be nice. :)

v8 swaps can be found in the Epic Tech forum. as to the 3.4, it's a good engine if you're on a budget. It'll reuse most everything you've got attached to the current block (you'll need a balanced flywheel and inline fuel pump). or, for maximum improvement, you can swap in the entire camaro 3.4 including accessories and fuel injection. the FI harness is stand alone and I'm told pretty easy to deal with. in the end though, it's no v8, so if you've expecting tire shredding, neck snapping acceleration, a 6 cylinder won't necessarily do that.
