  1. woohoo! I love ravines
  2. pretty sure mother's Back to Black is what my pop uses on his Jeep.
  3. are you uploading from a laptop or phone?
  4. Jeep does enjoy taunting us, no?
  5. yup, that is a concern for sure. I'd like to at least do it once so I have the plate for later display
  6. maybe "ALL AMC" ? if there's a chrysler part on this, I haven't found it yet.
  7. the tag is badly faded but I was able to make out that my truck was built in May of 88 which shoots down my "LASTAMC" idea. damn. I really like that one. I still could go for something like "88 AMC" in protest of chrysler's acquisition.
  8. I've not gone through the process yet myself so other guys can probably do better with specifics, but I can speak to the importance of due diligence. talk to every customer you can find, check the quality of their other work with your own eyes... aka: do your research. It's like everything else on your truck but times a million since it's so visible, expensive and (hopefully) permanent. anyone can pull the trigger on a spray gun, you want the guy/gal that knows what they are doing and takes pride in their work.
  9. to each his own. that certainly seems to be inline with modern fads.
  10. well, when it comes to the plates, they only give us 7 digits to work with in Michigan and Georgia. there's room for 8! give us just one more!
  11. they swap right in. but they are prone to leaks (both water and wind) so be careful of the ones you buy.
  12. I would check every connection along the way including the resistor pack for corrosion. did you clean the grounds?
  13. welcome to the club! If you haven't read through this thread yet, it's a good place to start:
  14. if you've got one lying around this one has a tape deck now so I guess I should use a matching one. I've never done a resto before.
  15. is it the original resistor pack?
  16. I don't think it's the muffler. Cats go bad all the time and cause way more backpressure but that doesn't cause knocking. I would revisit the flex plate, just to be sure.
  17. there's a connector in the harness right behind the drivers side rear tire that's known for corrosion issues inside. the ground flows through it.
  18. chinese crap is crap. 'tis a fact of life. I assume you checked for power and ground at the pump's harness?
  19. after learning what it would take to get my new truck properly covered in michigan, we're now debating making it my father's truck and plating it in Georgia. still limited to 7 characters, but now MANCHE is available. but I don't think I can get away with AMCJEEP since they specifically ban trademarked words. I guess I could still do AMC JP but I like it less. I could do something like JPTRUCK and maybe crush some future gladiator owners' dreams.
  20. are we the host?
  21. no kidding!
  22. I do what I can
