I found the shop that shortened mine by typing "4x4 shop" into google maps. found there's a place just a couple miles away that I had no idea existed. it cost me $30 but that doesn't seem to be typical.

stop everything. right now. go back to the store and buy grade 8 cap head bolts. right now. do it. carriage bolts are not made to the same sheer strengths (maybe grade 3?). I would rather have slop in the axle hole, than snap off the bolt head.

something in the back of my head says that the 2door are different. you'd want a 4-door front set. (but to be sure you should probably ask in Tech)

the hardest parts of the swap are the seatbelt differences and the fact that most MJs with a bench didn't have headrests. Be very picky and get a late model that has headrests. or better yet, the link in my signature has a thread about using the late 90s dakota bench which is way more comfortable. but requires more effort to install

you might have to be patient. travel can be... challenging these days. But honestly I would hold out for someone that truly cared. far too many are being parted out.

this is hitting too close to home. My grandma's nursing home (only 1/4 mile from where I sit) just made the news with 7 deaths and a bunch of positives. as far as we can tell it's "isolated" to a different wing, but details are sketchy and the State has stepped in to figure out what the hell has happened. My family is livid that no one gave us a call about this. So much for thinking she might be safe in a "locked-down" facility.

that sounds like a reasonable price. Hopefully you can find someone that wants to restore it.

It would never all fit in the cab of the MJ, but this is my KJ. Heaviest stuff is usually in the back seat's footwells. small bags/boxes in the very rear. large bags in the back seat. It's a work rig more than anything else these days, but I like to be prepared for anything.

I don't have a comment on altering the pedal arms, but I found it very helpful to discard the brake pedal cover and cut off the right side of the pedal underneath. after that I stopped catching it with my boot.
