nah, if you cut the pillar careful enough I bet you could wiggle the sealant free between the glass and a-pillar. then just slap a bunch of bathroom silicone in there when you're done.

I know I've seen it done, but I don't remember it being as simple as a regular XJ seat

the new steering pump should be under warranty where exactly does the gas tank leak? if it's leaking from the pump opening seal, a new tank isn't needed never spend money on a dana 35. I would invest my cash into an axle that will last (44, 8.25, 8.8). UNLESS it was just blown spider gears. those can be had for pretty cheap and are easy-ish to replace.

when our tub rusted out I bought the cheapest, simplest washer that had a stainless tub. still a bit too "smart" for my tastes but it's been working fine.
