  1. bedside for the win
  2. are the latches moving? are they moving, but not quite enough to free the 'gate? is your handle moving freely and returning to the proper rest spot after use?
  3. camo shortbed. beat up, but rust free. has some... brushed on paint? it's weird. lots of flaws, but good for a wheeler. all you're buying in this listing is the bed and the fuel door. everything that unbolts has been removed by either me or the junkyard it came from. this is a used bed and will have other minor dents or scratches. If you would like some hig res images, I can send them via email. I cannot guarantee that the first member to post "I want it" will be the one that actually gets this exact bed, but will be given preference for the next batch of beds. the crazy miles I gotta drive to get north and the fact that I can only carry 4 beds at a time means I simply cannot go by the rule "first come, first served". I will try my hardest to give preference to the first replies. (chances are good that if I drive more east or west on this trip, I'll go the other way the next trip) the window of opportunity for this drive is around the weekend of May 21st. I do not necessarily need you to be home to make delivery (I can unload and I can move it on flat ground with my hand cart), but I cannot manhandle it very far so you must make arrangements to either meet me when I can be there or apologize profusely to your HOA that you have a new lawn ornament for a few hours. delivery time/day will be given as soon as I have 4 beds sold with a reasonable route planned. this will involve 40-50 hours of driving, so I cannot make promises of times or even specific days if anything goes wrong along the way. I will of course be in contact via phone, so it's not like I'll surprise you with a bed one afternoon. ETAs will be updated as often as I can. once I have a route and buyers, I will let everyone know and a minimum $200 deposit is required via paypal. $100 of this is NOT refundable should you back out for any reason (and none will be returned should you back out after I leave the house). all will be refunded if I have to back out for any reason. unless I die... then I guess you're kinda screwed. sorry 'bout that in advance. if you have any questions or need pics of anything more, let me know in this thread. once I have a route planned out, I will list the bed as sold and then communicate via private messages with the buyer.
  4. check the other v8 swaps to see what they did.
  5. see that's the problem, I don't have a route until I know where the buyers will be. I'll head wherever in the salt-belt there are 4 people willing to give me money. but I can't hit all of the salt-belt in one trip. once I have a route for beds I'll also add another ad that contains all the other smaller items. it's complicated.
  6. how does this look for an ad? I can't shake the feeling that I'm missing something important... me and my silly overly complicated plans... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ blue longbed. little beat up, but rot free. found some evidence of old bondo work to the back drivers lower corner (I do believe the little globs are weld blobs left over from whatever was doing the pulling). the front wall shows evidence of something in the bed hitting it pretty hard. always tie down your cargo! all you're buying is the bed and the fuel door. everything that unbolts has been removed by either me or the junkyard it came from. (specifically for this bed, the tail light and wires shown have since been removed). $$$ delivered to your driveway IF your driveway is on my route this trip. I cannot guarantee that the first to post "I want it" will be the one that actually gets it. the crazy miles I gotta drive to get north and the fact that I can only carry 4 beds at a time means I simply cannot go by the rule "first come, first served". first come has first dibs. the window of opportunity for this drive is around the weekend of May 21st. 7. or lights it all on fire.
  8. dang. the one big drawback to my flattop conversion. facebook is where you're going to find the "I need LEDs, but don't know how to fab anything" crowd.
  9. it may or may not have propped up the auto manufacturers, but definitely hurt anyone in the used car/part market. completely destroyed my 8.8 selling business.
  10. wait, so these headlights have built-in foglights?
  11. based purely on how often someone asks about LEDs at that KJ facebook page, I see no reason why you can't raise enough dough.
  12. ah the joys of home ownership. right @eaglescout526 ?
  13. woke up to Jim stuck in my head.
  14. that sprinkler system was the best thing ever that we installed at my grandma's house. at that time she was unable to water the lawn herself and my family and I took turns keeping her front lawn perfectly green for a couple years.
  15. the frame needs nothing ** this isn't an XJ afterall. (** the exceptions being if there is rampant rust of if you plan on dropping the frame on rocks a lot)
  16. oooohhhhhh... I wish you good luck. none have survived intact on any bed I've acquired so far.
  17. all possible for future mods. right now I wanted a proof of concept with the parts I had on hand.
  18. the trip north with beds is looking to be around May 23rd and since I won't be in michigan for more than a day or 2, I'll need to order the decals ahead of time so if you guys could remind me of that when you start seeing me getting ready to go, that'd be awesome.
  19. will do. they cut them on a big sheet so I'll have a handful. weeding those bastards is a bit of a pain though. I lose like 1 in 5.
  20. fixed that first pic for ya I gotta get me one of these some day.

    Tool Talk

guess I should add this in here. I fabbed a double tire setup for the wheelbarrow. no more tipping over while I'm loading wood because the ground isn't level.
  22. he got the last one, but I can always get more if you're a bit patient.
  23. I don't think I have one on hand at the moment, but I can get ya one next trip north for sure.
  24. operation modernize-the-wheelbarrow was a complete success. best part was I didn't need to buy anything but a few nuts. sometimes it pays to hang on to stuff.
