  1. no such thing as too much info if the engine starts acting up.
  2. R.E.M. it's a real-time engine monitor for Renix era Jeeps. https://nickintimedesign.com/product/rem-clock-panel-v4/
  3. is this maybe a bearing in the trans that has gone bad? pilot bearing? although the pilot bearing in my old 88 was... missing... when I did the ax-15 swap and it didn't do the bucking bronco thing. (all the bearings were gone and it was just the outer race that remained)
  4. yeah, the Quartz version is pretty dang tough. or you could get a blank panel and insert something different. maybe a PT Cruiser analog? for extra style points.
  5. the usual problem I've seen is that they have frozen in place.
  6. so I broke out the big red paperback (89 shop manual) and there isn't any word on the issue. I'm guessing that the friction coefficient is set when new and that's it, they either get loose with time or freeze up with time.
  7. @eaglescout526 anything in the computers that sheds light on this conundrum?
  8. well, that's puzzling. there isn't some sort of tiny set screw hole for the top pivot, is there?
  9. never a doubt in my mind that it wouldn't sell in a heartbeat. a beautiful truck.
  10. chances are you'll need to adjust your driveshaft length with any axle swap. the dana 35 is a tiny axle and everything else has a longer pinion snout. spline count on all 8.25 axle shaft after 97 is 29.
  11. what do the attachment points look like? I don't have a pair to check.
  12. definitely a 44
  13. have you checked the voltage at the cluster main connector? if that is good and there's no visible problems with the "circuit board" then I'd agree that it's the old gauge.
  14. if the guy you bought it from never got the title put in his name, he never actually owned the truck and is thus not the previous owner.
  15. huh, that was weird. I think you may have accidentally hidden your own post? there's nothing about hiding a post recorded in any of the mod logs. anywho, I've unhidden it for ya. I seem to remember we had an intro thread many, many moons ago. usually guys introduce themselves and their trucks in their Project thread. https://comancheclub.com/forum/8-member-projects-your-comanches/
  16. another option is to shift the cab permanently and plug the vacuum lines. there's a thread on it in the link in my sig.
  17. the only KJs that don't have 3.73 are manual transmissions (3.55) and 4bangers (4.10). both are rare as hell. checking is always good, but you're going to find a 3.73. car-part.com might be able to find you one of the rare ones though. definitely double check an axle claimed to be a 4.10.
  18. I do believe @ghetdjc320 is in the middle of a Liberty swap right now. Liberty rear brakes are smaller than the fronts and will easily clear. the key restriction to me is that 99% of KJs got 3.73 gears. a lot of guys like the 8.8 because they can be found with 4.10s fairly easily. but the ZJs and TJs got 3.73s a lot too, so if regearing is out of the budget, you can use them together.
  19. I split your questions off into Tech so more eyes will see them.
  20. the later 97+ 8.25 is as strong as the 44 and 8.8 bonus points if you look at KJ Libertys because they have the same bolt pattern but are an inch or so wider than stock and thus helps to fill out the wheelwell to match the front. (MJs have a wider butt than XJs which is why the tire looks tucked in)
  21. WJ arms are the same length as stock and so will sometimes be long enough for a 3" lift. it all depends on the individual truck and how much caster adjustment it has available.
  22. I'd say that's your problem.
