  1. This one in particular has a lot of good reading in it. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6664
  2. Sweet. I think I'll be doing that. :D Thanks!
  3. When in doubt, add a catch bottle. I had to. :(

    1992's

Last time I saw those numbers it had "4x4 only" next to them.
  5. If it helps at all, this is the procedure for adjusting the linkages.
  6. Lots of good facts (and opinions) here: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6664
  7. The T-case is a mechanical linkage, the front axle disconnect is switched by vacuum.
  8. The front U-joints and the Dana 35 will be your weak links. You'll likely eventually want to upgrade the front U-joints/axleshafts to the larger 297/760 size and swap out the rearend with an XJ/MJ Dana 44 or Ford 8.8 from an Explorer. The more gentle you are on your stock axles, the longer they may last.
  9. In my opinion, the best things you can do are routine maintenance and then gears, gears, and more gears. What trans do you have and what size tires? Done a tune up recently? Running the original cat?

  11. I cannot stress how important it is for everyone that wants a hat to get in on it now. The minimum buy amount is 45 hats and I don't know if we'll ever have enough interest to do this again. I'll certainly try to buy a few extra, but can't make promises as to how many (all depends on how much money I can free up to do it). Please send me a PM with the following info: -your order -your address -are you paying with paypal or a money order -and if you need any more stickers, magnets, or club business cards. Especially let me know if I've never sent you any ComancheClub magnets yet! I'll reply with: -either my address for money orders or my paypal addy for that -your total And if you pay with paypal, please put your screen name in it somewhere so I don't have to hunt down who just sent me money! :thwak: I'll be placing the order on Dec 17th. Once the order comes back to me, I'll send them out asap. Hats take a couple weeks or so to make after I place the order. We're getting in to the christmas crunch so it's hard to say how long for sure. The prices are as follows. Hats: $17.40 each (actually $16.40 + 1/50th of the $50 setup charge) shipping (box included): $3 (might vary slightly since I'm still looking for 50 cheap small-but-sturdy boxes) Payment though paypal: $1 (they're going to charge me) Can cozy: $1.50 each Shipping for can cozies with no hats should be about $1.50 (since I can stick them in an envelope) So as an example, if you wanted one hat and 2 cozies and are sending it via paypal, it'd be about $25 total. As with the stickers/decals, donations beyond the actual costs are welcome and go towards the website fees. To refresh everyones memory, the caps are made in the USA :USAflag: and they'll look like this but be khaki/tan with brown embroidering: "ComancheClub.com" will be stitched in an arc across the back and a version of this image stitched on the front: Can cozies will essentially look something like this: http://www.t-shirtexpressions.com/NewPictures06/iig_can_cozy.jpg that's a generic image I found online, but they are the style with the folding bottom that collapses to fit in your pocket. If this goes over well, I'll look into doing T-shirts next. One project at a time though.
  12. Got a picture of the damage to the fender?
  13. Not sure if it'll help anything, but your driveshaft is on backwards. The rubber isolator should be down by the axle.
  14. No one will ever have to pay anything to use any feature on this site. Not while I'm in charge at least. It is empty for the time being. If you are doing a how-to, please put it in the tech section for now.
  15. Shot in the dark here, but try unplugging the battery for a while. In newer cars it resets the computer. For the life of me I can't remember if the old 'puters retain anything. What year is your truck?
  16. IDK Pete the only thing I found was the complete axle for 1300,,, for front or rear. On another note, I found out the offset is around 44.45 on those wheels. $1300 is a good price for a brand-spankin'-new complete M44 axle. But I guess if it's out of the budget, it's out of the budget. :(
  17. Out of curiosity, have you pulled up the carpet yet?
  18. Was the vacuum line that you plugged into the vacuum canister plugged before or open?
  19. What about those little peep mirrors I see on hotrods? The ones that mount to the drip rail.
  20. Before you spend any more money, look into the brand new JK Rubicon axles being sold by places like 4wheeldrive hardware (4wd.com). They have the 5 on 5" pattern and have 4.10s in them. I don't think they have lockers though and you'll likely have to weld your front bracketry onto them, but it's hard to beat the price for complete and brand new axles. :D
  21. You may be over thinking this one. I think you'll see a huge improvement with even a tiny cooler since you current system has no way to efficiently dump the excess heat. But on the other hand I don't think there is such a thing as too much cooling... :dunno: :D
  22. That might be hard. I've seen some wicked long parades of corvettes and VW bugs.
  23. I bought a trans cooler from the junkyard that I'll be installing in the 88 some day. Cost me a dollar. No idea what car it came from though since it was in the aluminum scrap bin. :(
  24. If the engine is in good shape, I would keep it and do the build up around it. There isn't a ton of power, so you'll want 4.88s (just don't keep the Dana 35). You can build up the entire suspension and axles now and do the engine swap later, so it's not like you need to tear apart a perfectly good truck just because you think you need to do it all at the same time. Also, the 207 will survive just fine behind the 2.5L.
  25. I've discovered the "brine soak". :D I made a chicken with this method a couple weeks ago and it turned out so well that I was suddenly put in charge of the turkey this year. Guess I did too good a job.
