  1. gearing (and tire size) matters a lot too. it's really hard to find 2 identical 30 year old Jeeps for a straight up comparison.
  2. after 3 decades of existence, the performance of any particular truck is mostly dependent on the condition it's in. but the rule of thumb is that the Renix has a bit more toque down low and the HO has a bit more ponies up high. but not enough to justify switching from one to the other based purely on numbers.
  3. never mind I can see it stamped on the side of the unit I'm looking at, plain as day.
  4. for r134, yes?
  5. I can only drive one at a time, but they sure as heck can be broken more than one at a time. old trucks are fun!

    Welding

welder art is fun I made trophies out of a peugeot. (did you mean to upload a 2sec video?)
  7. this one work? crap, I guess that means I need to fight more with that last fitting that's stuck. https://www.amazon.com/Four-Seasons-38901-Expansion-Valve/dp/B000C2Q3W0/
  8. does/should the conversion kit include the o-rings found at that aluminum junction brick by the firewall? they didn't all survive disassembly when I pulled the hvac box.
  9. doing what trucks were meant to do. nice save!
  10. writers have been saying that ever since that one concept truck came out in, what, 2016? at this point I'll believe it when I see a new concept. or at least an official statement by chrysler.
  11. if you currently have one that's not a pretzel, a body shop can repair it.
  12. was prepping for pulling the hvac and found these gems. not sure if I want to laugh or cry. don't know what they do yet. I'll deal with that once the interior is finished.

if you're in a hurry you should tag @eaglescout526 and @jdog so they know.
  14. there are several vids on youtube. if they don't pop up for dash removal, look for ones involving heater core replacement.
  15. it's more likely a bit of both, but mostly the MJ wasn't selling well at the end. the XJ was selling like hotcakes and every MJ on that assembly line represented a loss of potential profit that an XJ in that spot would have provided. dwindling sales numbers, eating a profitable spot on the line, and the dakota already existed (and had an extended cab variant) all worked together to kill off the MJ. if it was purely the dakota, chrysler would likely have dropped the MJ in 1990 before spending money on the re-do. in their defense, they gave it a shot. it simply failed to sell. maybe we can call it the start of the end of the regular cab truck?
  16. shoulda just asked. plenty of us have been through that and found solutions.
  17. big fat tires look pretty good on a trailer.
  18. like new!
  19. nice welds. why are there so many helper leafs?
  20. well, that would definitely fix a leaky RMS.
  21. this is why I don't let other people work on my stuff. especially not 3 times. I don't need to pay someone else to fail at a job. I can do that all on my own.
