  1. The Dana 44 is a good indicator. :D As are the leaf packs. They have a 4+1 instead of the regular 3+1 leaf setup. 2wd isn't much of a problem since it's a bolt-in procedure to convert to 4wd using stock MJ/XJ parts. Also, the package goes by a few different names, including Big Ton, Heavy Ton and Metric Tonne.
  2. Oops, yeah I mean #1 from the rules for the entire forums, not the classifieds. I bet that was mildly confusing. :D
  3. I remind you guys about rule number one. But anyway, it seems this was all my fault. I didn't specify that I prefer to lock threads rather than delete them. Deleting is a too permanent in my opinion, but I failed to share that believe with our new helper-mods. I never noticed the deletions and so until now didn't realize my mistake. So I apologize for that and I think we're all on the same page now as far as that goes. So as long as you guys can forgive each other and carry on, I think this occurrence was, in the end, a good thing for the forums in that it help iron out some rules.
  4. Yup. That one is my favorite. Most of the hotels have lobbys and grounds that are worth a looksy. :D
  5. Just for clarification, my coil was fine. It was the power wire feeding the coil that was bad. Make sure you check for corrosion at every connection.
  6. I've seen old Mopar MJ flaps on ebay every once in a while. Cherokee flaps should fit the fronts for sure, and maybe the back too depending on how they attach.
  7. We did three days there and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. Saw ONE character wandering around total for all three days. And it was just pluto. In 95 when I was there. they were all over the place. The Wilderness Lodge is awesome, ain't it? Every time we go we set aside an evening to just hang out around the lobby. :D Taz you don't know what you're missing. You should try a couple day-trips to visit some of the cooler hotels. It's totally free and totally worth the drive. I'll be down at the end of February if you want a guided tour.
  8. They are pretty fab-intensive. and the welds need to be good. A track bar is under a great deal of stress and I've seen photos of them failing. I'm sure they all work, but I'm not sure how much of a project the original poster is looking for.
  9. I did it right off the bat when I built up the 88 because I had such bad axlewrap when it was a stock 2wd. But it had saggy springs and a broken leaf so I not sure if it's a fair comparison. But I don't have any serious axle wrap issues now that it's SOA pushing 33s. In what condition are your leafs?
  10. Honestly, I don't think I got any more height than the thickness of the leaf when I did it to my 88. Probably depends on the condition of the leaf.
  11. It is possible for the post to have been eaten by a glitch. It would be the first to happen since the upgrade though. :dunno:
  12. Can you put a good word in for us with the mouse? :brows:
  13. My plan for my 90 was to just remove the stock fuse box and splice in an aftermarket unit. Hasn't happened yet and likely won't until spring so I can't comment on how easy/hard it might be. I have to imagine that a similar year XJ box would be the easiest fix (keeping in mind that there really isn't an "easy" fix). Make sure you add inline fuses if you wire anything separately.
  14. A little bit. But is it worth all the effort and money? Maybe not. For axle swapping, I generally look for a significant improvement in gearing or strength or both.
  15. I don't know. I typically don't delete posts. :dunno:
  16. Very nice truck. I think I will move this over to the pub for a while. But shame on all those members who don't check the other forums. See what you're missing out on? :D
  17. I'd definitely recommend soldering the connections if possible.
  18. The factory bumper mounting points are only strong enough to hold up the bumper. The same principle applies to a new bumper as it does the hooks, you must tie it in to as many point along the frame as possible.
  19. All depends on the gears. A 97+ 8.25 is a much stronger axle and worth swapping if there is no disadvantage in gear ratio. The earlier 8.25s are only a slightly stronger axle. Not really worth swapping unless there is a benefit in gear ratio.
  20. I don't know which one it is, but everything should have a fuse.
  21. I had a similar issue in my 88 that was fixed by running a separate ground.
  22. Well, there are no guarantees in life, but if it was my truck, I'd go with 235s and I'd use the power setting.
  23. 2.5L + 5speed manual generally equals 4.10s 2.5L + 4speed manual generally equals 3.55s (and lots of cursing when merging with traffic)
  24. I haven't taken pics yet comparing AX to MJ, but this is the Dakota vs MJ housings.
  25. Might be. I've never looked into it. I just remember someone saying it exists.
