  1. I had 4x6s back there. Then switched to 6x9s in little boxes. Then added a small 10 sub. Then removed the 6x9s. Having 5 1/4s in the doors (actually they are component 5.25s with separate tweeters) and a small sub in the back turned out the best for me.
  2. The factory masters can last 20+ years. It'd be hard to top that. :D
  3. Dana 35s should be filled with concrete. Makes for a better boat anchor. :D
  4. Door speakers are 5 1/4"
  5. This should answer that Q. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16725
  6. I'll be marking my calender. :D
  7. I always write long posts in Word or notepad before posting. Even though firefox lets me just go back and usually everything is still there, I just don't trust the internet. Too many problems with Explorer back in the day and now I'm paranoid about it. :shake:
  8. :rotf:
  9. Do you have a timetable yet for your first trial run? :brows: Or is it too early.
  10. :dunno: I didn't do anything. I wonder if Qui did. Maybe it was just a glitch in the system. :pcwhack:

    Home decor?

Probably not the sort of thing to brag about on the internet. :rotf:
  12. Yup. The most common ratio with the 2.5L and 4spd manual trans is 3.55, which is too high of a ratio (too low of a number) for that engine and bigger tires. There's a chance you've got a better ratio, but you'll need to confirm it. The most common ratio for a 2.5L with the 5spd manual (same trans but with overdrive) is 4.10. That would help with the larger tires. Being 2wd it'll be half the work too. :D Look for any MJ/XJ/YJ/TJ rear axle with 4.10s in it. And if you're wondering, changing gears in an axle is one job better left to the pros, and it can be very expensive. :( Plus then you'd be wasting all that money on a Dana 35. As to the tires sticking out, the bed of an MJ is actually wider than the front (the front and rear axles are about the same width). A solution would be to buy a pair of wheel spacers to push the rear rims out to better visually match the front. (make sure the spacers are "hub-centric" and of decent quality).
  13. Tech questions should really go in the Tech forum so more guys will see it.
  14. I'm not sure that should be possible. :hmm: Unless you t-stat isn't closing fully.
  15. Ok, so he wired it to be on with the ignition. Probably not the best way to have done that. :hmm: You can keep the current splice location (I'd re-do it properly though) if you want and use it to turn on a relay for the fan. The fan pulls a decent amount of juice and I would install a dedicated relay for it.
  16. Dunno. Check the torque on them every once in a while? :dunno:
  17. got a photo of this? Maybe the previous owner did it out of ease-of-access-to-a-positive-wire?
  18. Tough call. Are you planning on anything bigger in the future? Small lift and 31s maybe? It costs so darn much to change ratios in an axle that it almost seems a waste to change the 44 to only 3.55 or 3.73. :( How much highway travel does the truck see? How much longer do you think the truck will be on this duty? How much money do you have available for this endeavor? How new are the brakes in your current axles? Any major work done to them recently?
  19. Haven't a clue. I'll look into it.
  20. Whew. I'd still like to fly out to Bonneville for the run if that's possible. The truck looks fast just standing still. :D
  21. Which reminds me, I made a new color truck to replace the rollbar trucks but now I've forgotten how to load them. :shake:
  22. Please tell me that was photoshopped and you are NOT seriously already out there running times.
  23. What brand spacers did you buy? What sort of maintenance did you do?
  24. Did you post it here? I don't remember seeing it. :hmm: I'd be all over it if I was in state. Won't be back til mid June at the earliest. :( Can you take the tow bar off first? Some of us have MJs that don't move under their own power. :D
