fwiw, the 89 dealership brochure gives different heights for the 2wd and 4wd MJs, but only a single height for the XJ. :dunno: But since the roofs are different, I can't directly compare the XJ to the MJs.
  2. The rear would simply require new perches added in the MJ spots. Front would be a pain since the YJ is leaf sprung and you'd need to transfer all of the MJ bracketry.
  3. Spoke too soon. Seems part of CO is a bit less beautiful. :(
  4. Since these mini-forums are mostly for planning wheeling trips and meet-n-greets, anyone is free to check in and post on whichever forum they like.
  5. Do you have to right-click every time?
  6. Dunno. :dunno: I don't touch IE anymore. Firefox rules!
  7. Can you snap a photo of the sway bar contact? How much lift did you add? Is it contacting on one side or both sides?

Are most cherokees the same height as a 2wd MJ or a 4wd MJ?
  9. Spelling is automatically and continuously checked in Firefox. :D (I sometimes have to tell it where new text boxes are, but it's very good at remembering after that)
  10. Very true. Forgot to mention that.
  11. Why would anyone need an engine oil or manual trans oil cooler? Last I checked, the oils we put into them are designed to be at a certain temperature, not cooler. It's bad enough that an auto trans has those weak little fluid lines running around just waiting to fail, I wouldn't want that with my engine oil too. :ack:
  12. There are no rules about who can post where. Feel free to post in both.
  13. It's difficult to enforce black and white justice when the rules have a certain measure of ambiguity. I've seen what can happen at other sites when the ban-hammer is used. I'm not about to pick that kind of fight. It is my continuing belief (blind hope?) that all of our members can regulate their own words as they type. It's not like talking, where the words form in your head right before you spit them out. In a forum we all have the ability and the responsibility to proofread (and maybe use spellcheck  ).
  14. If there is a way to change it, I haven't found it yet. :dunno: But if I do, I'll make an announcement about it. :D If you have a mouse with the roller ball, clicking the roller ball will open them in a new tab (at least with firefox it does, I don't know much about explorer anymore).
  15. Swapping the backs outright is pretty straightforward. I just helped dfreeman616 do that a few days ago.
  16. Where's the fun if it's not a challenge? :D
  17. Some of the big choices to make when looking for an MJ (organized roughly in order of difficulty to change): -Solid body or rustbucket -long or short bed -4.0 or 2.5 -stick or auto -A/C or not -2wd or 4wd Anything else is fairly easy and you can parts-shop XJs and MJs in the junkyards to build the comanche you want. Don't think that you need an Eliminator to get all the goodies. A solid base model truck will usually suffice. Be sure to ask before buying anything. There are a bunch of minor changes over the year that can make for major headaches later on.
  18. I'm not sure what would be involved with adding headrests. I've never torn into a bench to see. But in theory it should be possible to reskin the new bench with the fabric from your current bench.
  19. Is your current trans even capable of handling the 360? That's a LOT of torque there. A good 100+ ft-lbs over a 318. What are you using for axles?
  20. When you say "maxed out", do you mean the tire won't go up any more? Or is something bottoming out (like your shocks or bumpstops or something else that's touching and preventing upward motion). A super stiff coil can hurt up-travel, but if you've got some sort of physical restriction, you might want to find out what it is. :hmm:
  21. Riverview MI
  22. The MJ/XJ Dana 44 or the '97+ XJ 8.25 needs perches welded on (I'm assuming you're going SOA in the rear to fit those 33s). Explorer 8.8 needs a bit of work but is still doable. The pluses to the Exp 8.8 are disk brakes (95-01) and available factory 4.10 gears.
  23. I wonder what those "fixes in a can" do to the rest of the engine. It doesn't just target the RMS. It affects everything.
  24. Oh yah, that was the "Category created for Pat", right? Sorta. Anyone that gets over 5k will have it.
