Will do. I'll PM you all the info I have so you'll be up to speed. I've got the address he gave me for the check, and a different address I got when I looked up his name in the whitepages (don't know for sure if he is the Sr or the Jr). I'll be in GA on Saturday, but only for the day since we're essentially just driving through. I'll be back in GA probably Tuesday or Weds. I noticed that the cell number is also used in a couple other CL ads for someone named Rick, so maybe it's not Nate's phone. Maybe his sons? I sent a text message with my name, Nate's name and that I'm trying to reach him about the MJ so maybe if it's not Nate's phone, then that guy will know why my number keeps popping up on his phone. :D

Which tires are they? Some manufacturers are true 31s, others are more like 30". Add an inch or so of bumpstop and some WJ lower control arms and you can run them on 0 lift. It'll be tight, but with the proper bumpstopping it should work ok. A full blown 3" kit would be much better though. This is my 90 on 31s (no lift and WJ arms):

   Adrenalin tends to drown out common sense. :D And pie irons are awesome. Some bread, a little butter and a can of your favorite pie filling and you've got one deeeelicious dessert around the campfire. Just remember to check on them frequently until you get a hang of how long it takes to cook one. As soon as it's golden brown, flip it. Repeat, then remove and let cool. A little powered sugar makes for a great topping.

This is why I tell people to look for a solid MJ body, not any particular trim packages. You can make an MJ into anything you want with the right junkyards. :D

All I have is a bunch of questions. :fs1: Worse comes to worst, I'll be in town Saturday and will be dropping by for a visit. If he changed his mind or sold the truck out from under me, that's fine and that's his prerogative, but I at least deserve to hear him say that.

hope i'm doing this right lol

Not bad. I've seen far worse. My phone used to take decent pics, until that feature up and died. :dunno: -
While you're reworking things, you might think about adding in an extra trans fluid radiator (maybe with a small fan?) to help keep the life blood cool.

'Tis a good thought. Sorry we couldn't be of more help (though not everyone checks the site daily so someone might post up with something later). It just seems that oem work good enough that there doesn't appear to be much aftermarket support. :hmm:

NP231 confusion? Help please!

Well, I've got some good news for ya. That's an AX-15 trans. Notice the giant ring of metal under the shifter area in this picture. If you clean some of the grime off, you'll find it on yours. -

Cool. I figured it was just an optical illusion. Didn't know if you suddenly going for a cowl hood look though. :D -

Will it clear the hood? -
Automatics aren't my thing. :D All my trucks are stick. The factory ones seem to do alright. :dunno: I don't really hear complaints about them.

Rally Truck - need opinions on build

According to the dealership brochure, the 2.5/stick could get the metric ton package. The 2.5/auto could not. -

The 242 has an extra setting that allows you to run it in awd mode on dry pavement without breaking anything. Helps out in winter where there are patches of slipperiness here and there but most of the road is clear.

XJs were never officially offered with the 242 behind a stick. :( But the 242 will indeed mate to the AX-15. I installed one into my 90 MJ. I'd be hesitant to buy a super high mileage AX-15 that had such a bad drive shaft.

NP231 confusion? Help please!
Pete M replied to SkipshotMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's perplexing for sure. :hmm: Can you snap a picture of the trans, t-case, and the splines at the end of the input shaft? That'll help confirm everything. -
Man that's a thing of beauty. :D I just might need to snag some 97+ doors for one of my rigs.

Sometimes work is just annoying like that. Always getting in the way of the fun stuff. :D

Nope. But this isn't exactly out of the ordinary. I usually get him 1 out of every 5 tries. I get the feeling that he's just an older guy that doesn't have his cell phone permanently attached to his hip like myself. :D
-
The guy never showed up and I couldn't get a hold of him on the phone. grrrr..... :fs1: I guess there's a ton of legitimate excuses when you're trying to haul an old truck 30 miles so I'm not freaking out just yet.. I'll be trying the phone again this afternoon.

CA smog high CO possible CTS?
Pete M replied to merikgvr4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Gotcha. I haven't a clue though. No sniffer tests here in Michigan. But we've got a couple guys here who actually worked in that industry so be patient, one of them will eventually reply.
