  1. I'll do my best to post up pics while I'm there, but I haven't a clue what internet access might be available to me. :dunno: Worst case, you'll all have to wait til I return. I sold my old film SLR and haven't had any money to replace it so I'll be using my dad's Powershot. It takes wonderful pics, but there's no telephoto zoom setting. So I envision a whole lotta pit pics. I'll see what the pros are doing and see if I can't figure out how to weasel some of their "action" shots. :brows:

  3. That's weird. :hmm:
  4. Tried car-part.com ?
  5. If you can find them, WJ front control arms are a good upgrade for a stockish height MJ. They are stronger, curved to allow better tire clearance and will have newer bushings.
  6. We're suckers for pics of new projects.
  7. My house was built in the 40s and when the 50s rolled around, the previous owners busted out a hole in the back cinderblocks so they could fit in their new car. :shake: When we came in, my dad tore it down and built a 24x20. It's still a tight squeeze to get my truck in there. :(
  8. Are you using your hand to check for slop in the front end? Try having someone saw the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the front end parts. It can take a lot more force to see the slop than one can muster with their bare hands. In addition to the bushings, check the condition of your wheel bearings.
  9. Awesome! :clapping: Congrats!
  10. The clutch and flywheel will work, the bellhousing and the slave assembly will not. Keep in mind that a TJ/YJ trans will clock the t-case up a bit.
  11. Converting is a pretty straight forward process and it allows you to buy later model XJ parts that were better than the original MJ stuff.

    Must be. :hmm:
  13. Figured I'd use this as my official "out to lunch" post. Will be gone friday til Tuesday. No idea when or if I'll have internet. :dunno: Not sure if I'll care. :D --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just watched a show about Speed Week on TV. :D I'm getting myself psyched up for this weekend. My flight leaves Friday morning and if all goes well, I'll meet up with Peter (Worlds Fastest Comanche) later that day. It's an insanely complicated plan, but that's nothing new to me. I get on a plane that takes me to Minneapolis. Then I get on a different plane that takes me to Salt Lake City. Then I get on a shuttle that takes me to the buses. Then I get on the casino bus that takes me the 1.5hrs to the Wendover casinos. Then I call peter and he will haul me from there to the camping area. from that point, I don't know what's happening when. I'll figure it out on the fly. So far I've gathered that the most important things are: hat, sunscreen, binoculars, empty camera. Not necessarily in that order. :D I still have to borrow some money from someone for food, but that's just a minor detail. I figure I can last a weekend on peanutbutter and honey sandwiches. I should see everything from: to:

there's a tutorial located at the intro screen where you would sign in to the chat. It's good reading. :D I just learned how to adjust the refresh time:

    Chat room!...

A bunch of guys want to start the chat room up again. For the time being it's located here: http://comancheclub.com/mychat/phpMyChat.php3 and I was thinking that we should have a planned time each day. For starters I was thinking 9pm eastern time. Nothing is set in stone and the chat is open 24hrs. In time we'll hopefully be able to tweak it to be a bit more user friendly, but for now I'm just pleased it exists and hasn't crashed and burned yet. :D
  16. I'm game. Although after my team's injury problems last year, the NFL might not want me in again. I was like a curse on whomever I picked. :shake:
  17. The big difference is the weight rating of the leafs (for more carrying capacity). How often will you be carrying a big load?
  18. Looks like you figured it out. Looks like a great starting point for a project. Did the owner have any of the original paperwork?
  19. The comanche can't really use the XJ shock mounts (wrong location and orientation). You'll need to slice them off and add your own.
  20. Depending on what you're looking for, Hellcreek makes them. Here's a quote from when the metric tonners came out:

Stickied as a reminder. Also, it seems I can post directly into locked threads without unlocking, even though the dang button says locked. :dunno:
  22. A-yup, looks like a free trailer to me. :D
  23. I don't believe that "jerry-" was the word he was thinking of. :peek: I do believe that he's thinking of something that starts with an 'n'. Not that I would know anything about it. :fool:
  24. If you don't like it, all ya need are a pair of XJ fenders and it's all back to normal. :D But it looks like they turned out fine to me.
